A key member of the IT leadership team, reporting directly into the Chief Information Officer, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Global IT Infrastructure and Network Manager to oversee the strategy, development, and management of our global IT infrastructure and network operations.

Based in London, this highly technical and hands-on, leadership role will be responsible for shaping the IT architecture, creating and executing the global IT infrastructure roadmap, and ensuring the efficient and secure operation of our systems across multiple regions. The successful candidate will also provide leadership to a team of infrastructure engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Architecture Strategy: Develop and implement – cloud first – IT architecture strategies that align with the company's business goals, ensuring scalability, resiliency, security, and efficiency across the global business.
  • Global IT Infrastructure Roadmap: Design and maintain a global IT infrastructure roadmap that supports the growth and evolution of the organization’s IT systems. Manage key projects within this roadmap to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Network Management: Oversee the management and optimization of the global network, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of network systems and services.
  • Team Leadership & Line Management: Lead and manage a team of infrastructure engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team.
  • Cloud Expertise (Azure & Office 365): Leverage your deep knowledge of Azure and Office 365 to optimize cloud solutions, manage migrations, and ensure seamless integration across platforms.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure all IT infrastructure and networks comply with internal security policies, industry standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and that the company gets the best value from external partnerships.
  • Incident Management & Troubleshooting: The technical lead – The buck stops with you. Oversee incident management processes, acting as the escalation point for any major network or infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Budgeting & Cost Management: Develop and manage the budget for global IT infrastructure, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources while driving cost savings.

Key projects you will be leading:

  • Building out the IT Infrastructure function; managing the project to bring the function in-house (it's currently managed by a MSP) ASAP.
  • Build a 24 x 7 x 365, global support offering, covering the M&A of new labs as part of our Global Lab Network strategy.
Requirements

Experience:

    • Significant experience (10+ years) in IT infrastructure and network management within a global organization.
    • Proven experience managing and optimizing Azure, Office 365 and CISCO Meraki environments.
    • Strong background in managing large-scale IT projects and infrastructure initiatives.
    • Previous leadership experience, including line management of IT infrastructure engineers. Ability to line manage resources remotely, outside of the UK timezone.
    • Experience with network design, optimization, and management at a global scale.

Skills & Knowledge:

    • Expertise in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure solutions (specifically in Azure).
    • Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, routing, and switching.
    • Familiarity with IT security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption techniques.
    • Proficient with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially in complex, global environments.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders and vendors.
    • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor teams to achieve performance excellence.
  • Education:
    • A relevant degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
    • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, ITIL) are highly desirable.
