The team collaborates closely with investment banking coverage and capital markets product partners – including Leveraged Finance, Investment Grade Debt, Securitised Products and Equity Capital Markets – to originate primary deal flow from issuers and to source related financing, hedging and advisory mandates from investors.
This role offers significant exposure to high-profile, pan-European transactions and the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers, clients and investors. Responsibilities include:
- Originate, structure and execute a broad range of private capital solutions, including bespoke financings and private placements across the capital structure (e.g., growth capital, capital structure optimisation, asset monetisation including investment-grade structured JV transactions, HoldCo and leveraged finance-style structures, project and acquisition finance)
- Running work-streams within transactions with a strong focus on financial modelling, analytics and valuation
- Analyse issuer and asset-level credit fundamentals and assess risk/return dynamics across structures, sectors and jurisdictions
- Research market themes, evaluate opportunities and prepare client materials and pitches across private capital and private market solutions
- Lead workstreams and project manage transaction processes, coordinating across coverage and product partners as well as key stakeholders and third parties (including clients, investors, legal counsel and rating agencies as applicable)
- Assess transaction structures through an accounting and financial reporting lens (e.g., deconsolidation, IFRS 9/IFRS 10 considerations) and support analysis of implications for corporate credit ratings, including engagement with rating agencies and understanding of rating methodologies
Skills Required
- Significant relevant experience in private credit, investment banking, capital markets or related fields, with a track record of transaction execution and increasing responsibility
- Ability to independently run processes and manage junior team members, including delegating effectively and providing day-to-day coaching
- Understanding of accounting and financial reporting considerations relevant to securitisation and loan portfolio transactions (e.g., IFRS), and familiarity with corporate rating agency frameworks and methodologies
- Prior accounting experience and/or a professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA) is a plus
- Outstanding academic track record from a leading university or equivalent
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with a clear interest for analytics and modelling
- Excellent problem solving skills and an ability to comprehend complex concepts
- Proficiency and experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail and high standard of accuracy
- Motivated and hardworking
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
