At Eni, we are seeking an External Relations Officer (Makueni Agrihub) to join Eni Natural Energies Kenya EPZ Ltd. (ENEK) in Makueni. Reporting to the External Relations Manager, you will provide essential support in stakeholder engagement with governmental authorities, ministries, national and county governments, and community members, as well as in public information, data management, and administrative coordination. You will contribute to the effective implementation of ENEK’s projects and initiatives while ensuring alignment with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure ENEK maintains strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders and complies with applicable regulations.
- Support stakeholder engagement activities by scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and maintaining communication logs with key stakeholders, including communities, government agencies, and NGOs.
- Assist in engaging with external stakeholders and providing accurate information through the organisation of regular briefings and bilateral meetings.
- Collaborate with local communities to support the efficient and timely implementation of ENEK’s projects and initiatives.
- Act as the focal point for partner relations and community liaison activities related to ENEK’s projects and engagements with local communities.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of stakeholder communications by collecting and organising relevant data, maintaining records, and supporting reporting processes.
- Prepare reports and presentations by compiling information, drafting summaries, and ensuring document accuracy.
- Assist in organising training sessions, including managing logistics, invitations, and follow-up communications.
- Maintain and update databases related to the External Relations Department, ensuring the timely tracking of activities and outcomes.
- Stay abreast of current affairs and gather relevant information and updates from public authorities that may affect ENEK’s business and projects.
- Assist in planning and implementing communication strategies that promote support for ENEK’s operations among external stakeholders.
Skills and experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in communications, external relations, community development, stakeholder engagement, or administrative coordination.
- Experience in preparing and delivering reports and presentations.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across diverse cultures and stakeholder groups.
- Experience working across diverse teams, with the flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing priorities and environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
