This Employee Relations Manager  position is part of the Talent Tech and Operations (TTO) team based in Amsterdam, which designs and runs the infrastructure to deliver an outstanding talent experience supporting the full employee lifecycle for Netflix employees in the regional market.

About Us:
At Netflix, we are driven by a culture of high performance and accountability. Our people are our greatest asset, and as a part of our Employee Relations team, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining a work environment that fosters performance, trust, and responsibility. This is a unique opportunity to shape a consistent and scalable employee relations approach that aligns with our mission and ensures an inclusive and effective workplace.

What We Do:
Our Employee Relations team operates across three pillars:

  • Prevention - We partner with HRBPs, people managers, and Inclusion to identify risk early and build practices that reduce employee relations issues before they escalate.

  • Case Management - We manage complex employee matters - performance, conduct, sickness, disciplinary - with consistency, rigor, and sound judgment. We are a trusted partner to managers navigating difficult situations.

  • Data & Insights - We use data to understand trends, measure effectiveness, and surface actionable insights to leadership that drive continuous improvement.

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to lead and manage complex employee relations matters while building structured, scalable solutions. In this role, you will partner with our HR business partner team,  employee services, legal partners and employees to resolve issues (performance, sickness, disciplinary), ensuring a consistent, unbiased approach.  You may also collaborate and partner with other talent functions such as inclusion and  talent management to drive preventative measures.

Key Responsibilities:

Prevention

  • Partner with HRBPs, Legal, and Inclusion to design and embed ER guidelines and workflows that are fair, efficient, and built to scale.

  • Identify root causes and systemic trends to address issues upstream, before they become cases.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to people managers, helping them handle sensitive situations with confidence and consistency.

Case Management

  • Lead and manage complex employee matters across performance, sickness, disciplinary, and investigations — ensuring timely, well-documented, and legally sound outcomes.

  • Collaborate with Legal and HRBPs to ensure alignment with employment law across EMEA jurisdictions.

  • Apply a consistent, structured  approach to employee concerns while exercising sound judgment in ambiguous situations.

Data & Insights

  • Track and analyze employee relations trends to identify patterns, surface risks, and measure the impact of ER interventions.

  • Use clear, data-informed insights  to drive continuous improvement in ER processes, ensuring they remain effective as the business evolves.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical, business-focused solutions.

  • You have experience across different corporate functions (Tech, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, and Sales).

  • 5 or more years of experience in employee relations or HR, with a strong focus on performance management, investigations, and risk mitigation.

  • Previous employee relations experience in the Netherlands, United Kingdom or Poland. Exposure to other EMEA markets is a bonus.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Proven experience developing and implementing scalable employee relations processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to provide sound judgment in complex situations.

  • Proven ability to build trust across all levels of an organization, driving high-performance outcomes through accountability and structured guidance.

  • Experience partnering with senior leadership to drive alignment on employee relations strategy and outcomes.

Key Traits for Success:

  • Structured system-thinker: You have a structured approach and enjoy  creating, refining, and scaling processes that enhance performance and mitigate risk.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity:  We are a complex business and often lean into people over process so you must be comfortable working in an evolving environment with continuous change while leading with systems thinking.

  • Results-Driven: You operate with a high level of accountability, always focusing on delivering solutions that support the business and maintain fairness

  • Process Oriented Thinker: You are able to identify and analyze trends, proactively addressing issues before they escalate.

  • Data-Informed: You rely on data to guide decisions, providing clear insights and solutions that support continuous improvement.

  • Integrity and Professionalism: You handle sensitive information with discretion, ensuring confidentiality and building trust across the organization.

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
