What's the role?

We are looking for an experienced Event Manager to join our Global Events Team on a 14-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a full-time position based in the Netherlands, with Amsterdam as the primary location and Eindhoven also available as a possible work location.

You will lead the end-to-end project management, planning, production, and execution of global tradeshows, customer events, and large internal conferences. Your work will cover the complete event lifecycle, from assessing event requirements and shaping the initial concept to onsite delivery and post-event evaluation.

You will bring structure to complex international event programs while combining strategic project leadership with hands-on event production. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading complex event projects from initial planning and participation decisions through production, onsite delivery, and post-event evaluation.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project plans covering timelines, milestones, workstreams, responsibilities, resources, budgets, risks, and dependencies.
  • Coordinating stakeholders across marketing, sales, product teams, senior leadership, agencies, vendors, and other specialist functions while maintaining clear and transparent communication.
  • Overseeing event production and logistics, including venue selection, agency coordination, branding, catering, audiovisual production, photography, video, travel arrangements, promotional items, event materials, and onsite operations.
  • Managing vendors, contracts, budgets, deliverables, and performance while balancing quality, efficiency, timelines, audience experience, and business requirements.
  • Identifying risks and potential delays early, developing practical solutions, managing competing priorities, and helping contributors remain aligned throughout delivery.
  • Establishing event KPIs, measuring results, reporting on outcomes, and exploring event formats and technologies that can improve future experiences and business impact.

During onsite delivery, you will provide clear coordination across workstreams and help teams respond effectively to changing priorities or operational challenges. You will maintain an overview of the complete event program while also taking ownership of an individual workstream.

The international nature of the event portfolio requires occasional travel for event planning, site visits, and onsite delivery. You will also collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across international time zones, which may occasionally require flexibility outside regular local working hours.

Who are you?

You are an experienced event professional who combines strong project management expertise with practical event production knowledge. You know how to translate a complex brief into a structured plan and guide that plan from initial concept through successful delivery.

You communicate clearly, bring stakeholders together, and remain composed when circumstances change. You take ownership of results while creating an environment in which contributors understand their responsibilities, priorities, and dependencies.

To be successful in this role, you bring:

  • At least five years of professional experience in event management, with a strong focus on project planning, production, and execution in a fast-paced or international environment.
  • A proven track record of managing complex events or comparable programs involving multiple stakeholders, workstreams, dependencies, deadlines, and changing priorities.
  • Experience creating and maintaining detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, responsibilities, budgets, resources, risks, and status reporting.
  • Practical experience with event production, vendor and agency management, contract discussions, budgeting, venue coordination, branding, audiovisual production, attendee experience, and onsite logistics.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to align different perspectives, manage expectations, communicate delays transparently, and collaborate effectively across organizational levels.
  • A calm, proactive, and solution-focused approach, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage several projects simultaneously, and make sound operational decisions.
  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools, as well as event technologies such as event applications, digital agendas, floor plans, attendee engagement platforms, registration environments, or meeting-booking solutions.

Professional proficiency in English is important for effective collaboration with international teams, agencies, vendors, and stakeholders. You are also comfortable working across global time zones and travelling internationally when required for planning and event delivery.
