Our mission is simple: make development teams more productive and AI adoptable at scale.

What you’ll do

Employee Relations at JetBrains is a newly established function. We don't rely on heavy corporate processes or rigid org charts – we look for people who use judgment, context, and trust to guide their work. As our team grows across Europe, we need someone to help build out the foundational frameworks, policies, and practices that keep our workplace relationships healthy.

In this role, you will contribute to the Employee Relations strategy and case management for our locations. You will partner closely with team partners, Legal, Compliance, and Compensation & Benefits departments, and team leaders to resolve complex matters. Your insights from individual cases will directly influence how we improve our internal workflows and systemic employee experience.

Day to day, you will:

  • Conduct and coordinate fair, objective, and confidential workplace investigations.
  • Facilitate difficult conversations and support mediation between employees and leaders.
  • Coach managers and teammates on respectful communication and conflict resolution.
  • Support our Speak Up process and other formal reporting channels.
  • Develop practical employee relations policies and guidance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with local HR teams to ensure practices align with regional legislation and employee representation requirements.
What you’ll bring
  • A collaborative and pragmatic mindset.
  • Excellent judgment, integrity, and discretion.
  • Strong listening, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Confidence collaborating with senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to balance employee care with business needs.
  • Curiosity and a drive to continuously improve organizational systems.
  • A genuine interest in helping people work through difficult situations constructively.
What you’ll need
  • Professional experience handling employee relations, employment law, or workplace investigations.
  • A working knowledge of European employment law and legal frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience collaborating with Works Councils, employee representative bodies, or similar participation structures on consultation and co-determination processes.
  • The proven ability to conduct balanced, confidential workplace investigations.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience navigating organizational change or workforce consultations.
  • An understanding of GDPR and workplace privacy considerations.
What success looks like

Success in this role means earning trust through sound, fair decisions. You will know you are succeeding when you leave our systems better than you found them, resolve individual cases with objectivity, and help leaders build healthier, more self-sufficient teams.
