Join us and help shape the future of solar and battery storage projects and help EDF Power Solutions deliver a net zero future? As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality energy infrastructure across the UK and Ireland.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of solar PV, battery storage, and private wire projects across their full lifecycle. From early development and design through to construction and commissioning, your expertise will help ensure projects are safe, compliant, and commercially effective.

Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this is a hybrid role with a mix of home working and time in our #London or #Edinburgh offices one or two days per week. You’ll also travel to project sites and other locations as needed to support delivery and collaboration.

You’ll work within a collaborative engineering team, contributing to technical reviews, guiding consultants and contractors, and supporting continuous improvement. Your work will help maintain high standards while enabling the delivery of complex renewable energy projects at pace.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong technical expertise, a collaborative approach, and experience delivering infrastructure or energy projects. You’ll be confident working across multidisciplinary teams and providing clear technical direction. To be shortlisted, you need to offer…

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience delivering infrastructure or energy projects across multiple lifecycle stages including development, design, construction, and commissioning
  • Strong grounding in electrical engineering systems relevant to solar PV or BESS such as high voltage, protection and control, power electronics, SCADA, or balance of plant
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams and understanding engineering interfaces across civil, mechanical, control and commercial disciplines
  • Experience coordinating engineers, consultants or contractors including reviewing technical outputs
  • Knowledge of UK standards, regulations, and grid requirements relevant to renewable energy projects
  • Experience operating within engineering or construction environments with strong awareness of safety, health, environmental and quality requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple activities across a portfolio of projects with changing priorities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing electrical engineering input across solar PV, battery storage and private wire projects through all lifecycle stages - from origination and development through to design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Reviewing and assuring technical outputs from consultants, contractors and suppliers
  • Supporting project teams with design decisions, feasibility studies and optioneering
  • Contributing to engineering standards, specifications and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting the application of engineering standards, specifications and guidance across projects.
  • Ensures that electrical engineering outputs support safe, compliant and commercially viable project delivery
  • Assisting in the resolution of technical issues and providing pragmatic engineering guidance across projects.
  • Collaborating, maintaining effective communication and aligning with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and support project delivery.
  • Contribute to building and strengthening a skilled, high performing, and motivated Electrical Team, with an open and positive working environment, and a culture of excellence, collaboration and trust.
