We’re looking for a Director of Sales to lead our Enterprise and Marketplace Payments segment. With deep expertise in payments and experience selling to large accounts, ISVs and marketplaces, you’ll drive the growth of this high-potential segment. This role involves leading a growing team, developing and executing go-to-market strategies, and collaborating with internal teams to shape our roadmap and strategy.

This role will be based in London, Berlin or Paris and reports to the General Manager of Global Enterprise Business.

What you’ll do

  • Enterprise Expertise: You’ll ensure SumUp provides best-in-class solutions tailored to the commercial, product, and operational needs of large merchants.
  • Team Leadership: You’ll hire, grow and lead a high-performance sales team of 10 account executives within a year, with plans to grow to 50 in subsequent years. Create training programs and commission structures.
  • Revenue & GTM Strategy: You’ll develop and execute strategies to win large new accounts in multiple countries, identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within the existing merchant base and ensure participation in major RFPs.
  • Product Development: You’ll work closely with marketing, engineering, and product teams to enhance our enterprise segment offerings and align roadmaps with business goals.
  • Market Positioning: You’ll leverage SumUp’s strengths in small merchant and card-present payments to differentiate and expand our reach in the marketplace and ISV sectors.

You’ll be great for this role if:

  • You have payment expertise and growing revenue in multiple markets in Europe, and/or LatAm.
  • You have proven success in selling to large enterprises, marketplaces, or ISVs.
  • You’re a team builder leading and scaling sales teams, with a focus on performance and empowerment.
  • You’re strategic & data-driven, setting ambitious goals, creating targeted strategies, and driving growth through cross-selling and upselling.
  • You’re financially savvy and experienced in managing budgets and turning financial plans into measurable success.
  • You’re a collaborative leader who can align strategies with product, engineering, and marketing teams.
  • You have strong communication skills influencing internal and external stakeholders.

Why you should join SumUp:

  • We're a truly global team of 3000+ people spread across 4 (Europe, LatAm, Australia and the US) continents.
  • You will own a stake in SumUp's future success by enrolling in our virtual stock ownership program.
  • We offer a competitive compensation package and paid leave and you will have access to the SumUp Sabbatical, our Employee assistance programme for mental health as well as Fitness and language learning offers.
  • You’ll have a dedicated annual Learning & Development budget for attending conferences and/or advancing your career through further education
