About Us

Euromonitor International leads the world in data analytics and research into markets, industries, economies and consumers. We provide truly global insight and data on thousands of products and services; we are the first destination for organisations seeking growth. With our guidance, our clients can make bold, strategic decisions with confidence.

About the Opportunity

This is a rare chance to build something from the ground up at one of the world's leading market intelligence companies.

As Director of API & Integrations, you'll own the access layer through which Euromonitor's trusted, proprietary data reaches enterprise clients, partners and AI systems — programmatically, at scale. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll define the strategy, ship the roadmap and establish API and MCP (Model Context Protocol) access as a first-class product line.

The timing matters. Enterprise buyers increasingly expect data to reach them inside their own workflows — BI tools, data warehouses and AI assistants like Microsoft Copilot, Claude and ChatGPT. You'll be the person who makes Euromonitor's cross-category global data available through well-governed, commercially aligned interfaces that are easy to integrate and even easier to build agents upon.

This is a newly created, highly visible role. Over time, you'll grow it into a dedicated API & Ecosystem team spanning developer experience, partner integrations, agentic/MCP access and usage monetisation.

What You'll Do

Own the product. Define the vision and roadmap for Euromonitor's API and MCP ecosystem — deciding which data domains and endpoints to expose and in what sequence, aligned to the Passport Reimagined relaunch. Run the operating rhythm with Engineering scrum teams: backlog prioritisation, user stories, acceptance criteria, trade-offs.

Champion developer experience. Treat developers and AI agents as first-class customers. Own documentation, SDKs, the developer sandbox, authentication and onboarding. Drive measurable adoption — time-to-first-successful-call, active integrations, query volume and retention.

Govern the data access layer. APIs and MCP servers are a critical control point for how Euromonitor data leaves the building. Partner with Information Security on authentication (OAuth 2.1, SAML/OIDC), rate limiting, entitlement enforcement and audit logging. Zero critical data-exposure incidents is the target.

Shape the commercial model. Work with Commercial, Finance and Legal to define how API and MCP access is packaged and monetised. Build the usage-analytics infrastructure and deliver a quarterly ecosystem scorecard to the executive team.

What We're Looking For
  • API & Platform Product Ownership: Proven experience owning the roadmap and backlog for API, data or platform products, ideally where APIs serve external partners and integrations as well as internal teams.
  • Technical Fluency: Strong working understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication standards (OAuth 2.1, SAML/OIDC), webhooks, SDKs and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP); able to engage credibly with engineers and architects and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • AI & Agentic Ecosystem Awareness: Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol and the broader agentic landscape — including AI assistants such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini — and how enterprises increasingly consume data through agents and tools.
  • Data & Domain Sensibility: Comfort working with large, structured datasets and an appreciation for data quality, lineage and entitlement, ideally within a subscription, SaaS, data, market-intelligence or information-services environment.
  • Commercial Acumen: Experience shaping the packaging, pricing and monetisation of platform or data-access capabilities, and reasoning about usage-based models.
  • Governance & Security Mindset: A track record of partnering with security and engineering on access control, rate limiting and audit, balancing data protection with developer and partner friction.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and to facilitate decisions across product, engineering, commercial and security.
  • Agile Delivery: Experience operating as a product owner within agile/scrum teams; CSPO or an equivalent certification is an advantage.
What Success Looks Like

By the end of your first year, you'll have published a single, documented API & MCP interface contract adopted across priority data domains, grown active integrations and developer registrations against agreed targets, put a robust governance and audit framework in place, and delivered a commercial model for API access that's live and operational.

The measure of the role is simple: Euromonitor's trusted data should be among the easiest in the industry to integrate, govern and build AI agents upon.
