Scopely is looking for a Director of Analytics Engineering to lead our Game Insight team in Barcelona!

Playgami is building a best-in-class SaaS gaming platform, and data is a core pillar. The Game Insight team plays a key role in enabling game teams to make better, faster, and more consistent decisions through trusted data products, scalable analytical foundations, and close partnership with analytics and business stakeholders.

What You'll Do

This is a senior leadership role focused on scaling analytic engineering capabilities across Scopely’s game portfolio while helping shape the broader Analytic Engineering strategy across the company. You will lead a team of managers and senior analytic engineers responsible for delivering trusted data products, scalable analytics foundations, and consistent business metrics that empower game teams to make data-driven decisions.

  • Lead and grow the Game Insight team, managing managers and senior individual contributors
  • Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Analytic Engineering within the Game Insight organization
  • Partner with the Director of Analytics for Core Insight to shape the broader Analytic Engineering strategy across Scopely
  • Collaborate with Data Products and Data Platform leadership to align the company's data strategy and investments
  • Build a high-performing organization through hiring, coaching, succession planning, and organizational design
  • Own the quality, consistency, and scalability of analytical data products, business metrics, and semantic layers supporting game teams
  • Drive standardization of analytical foundations and metric definitions across games while balancing local business needs
  • Partner with Analytics, Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions and trusted insights
  • Establish effective ways of working across Analytics, Data Products, Data Platform, Governance, and Engineering teams
  • Represent Analytic Engineering in strategic planning, prioritization, and executive discussions
  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve data usability, and increase the impact of data across Scopely

  • Analytic Engineering strategy and standards across game-facing domains
  • Analytical data products, semantic layers, and business metrics supporting Scopely's game portfolio
  • Cross-game standardization of analytics foundations and KPI governanceOrganizational leadership and talent development within the Game Insight team
  • Cross-functional alignment with Analytics, Data Products, Data Platform, Governance, and Engineering teams
  • Scalable, reliable, and trusted analytical data products

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, analytics platform, or related data leadership roles
  • 5+ years of experience managing and developing analytics, data, or engineering teams
  • Experience leading managers and building high-performing organizations
  • Strong understanding of analytic engineering principles, including data modeling, metric design, semantic layers, testing, and governance
  • Experience with modern data stack technologies such as BigQuery, DBT, Looker, Airflow, or equivalent platforms
  • Proven ability to define strategy, influence stakeholders, and translate vision into execution
  • Experience leading large-scale transformation, standardization, or platform adoption initiatives
  • Strong organizational leadership skills, including planning, prioritization, stakeholder management, and talent development
  • Ability to balance technical depth with business impact and organizational effectiveness
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience operating in complex, fast-moving environments with multiple stakeholders
  • Full on-site presence in the Barcelona office (5 days per week)

Nice to Have

  • Experience in gaming, mobile products, or free-to-play business models
  • Familiarity with game analytics concepts such as player behavior, economy, monetization, progression, live operations, and experimentation
  • Experience working with high-scale event data and large data volumes
  • Experience with KPI governance, semantic layers, or centralized metrics frameworks
  • Experience partnering with product analytics, data science, experimentation, or machine learning teams
