Service Credit Union is seeking a Data Engineer who will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data systems to support business operations. This role serves as a technical leader on complex initiatives and as a subject matter expert in Snowflake and modern cloud data architecture. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating efficient data pipelines, building scalable data models, and ensure data is accessible, governed, performant, and trusted across the organization. Compensation: Starting at $100,000. Negotiable with experience.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30a.m.-5:00-p.m

Location: Portsmouth, NH Service Credit Union Corporate Headquarters

Hybrid: Required three days in office

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake as the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Optimize Snowflake performance through clustering, warehouse sizing, query tuning, and cost management.
  • Develop and maintain integrations from source systems using tools such as SQL, Python, and orchestration frameworks.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, product managers, and software engineers, to guarantee smooth integration of data into current systems.
  • Monitor data pipelines, proactively identify issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Support Agile project delivery in partnership with PMO, Product Owners, and technical teams.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 4–7 years of experience in data engineering, with significant hands-on experience using Snowflake in production environments.
  • Snowflake or cloud platform certifications preferred.
  • Advanced expertise in Snowflake architecture, SQL development, and performance optimization
  • Strong experience with data modeling techniques (dimensional, relational, and analytical models)
  • Proficiency in Python or similar languages for data engineering and automation
  • Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow or similar)
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and modern data stack concepts
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, and security best practices
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
