About the role 

We’re looking for a Data and BI Analyst to join our IT team at Activate Group. 

The BI Analyst is a key role within the central Data & BI function, focused on delivering high-quality reporting and analysis to support business decision-making across the Group.

The role is responsible for developing Power BI dashboards, supporting analytics initiatives, and working with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver clear, actionable outputs. The BI Analyst will work closely with Senior BI Analysts and Data Engineering to ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and aligned to business needs.

This is a hands-on delivery role, contributing to both project work and BAU activity, with opportunities to develop broader analytical and stakeholder management capability over time.

 Key responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports aligned to business requirements.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into clear reporting outputs, with support from senior team members where needed
  • Support delivery of analytics initiatives, contributing to data preparation, modelling and visualisation.
  • Work with Data Engineering to ensure data is accurate, structured and available for reporting.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of outputs.
  • Apply agreed BI standards, including data modelling, naming conventions and report design.
  • Support the migration of legacy reporting (Excel, Tableau) into Power BI.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement of reporting and analytical processes.
  • Document datasets, reports and business logic to support transparency and reuse.

 

Skills and experience 

  •  Experience in a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong Power BI skills, including report development and basic data modelling.
  • Good understanding of DAX and ability to create calculated measures.
  • Strong SQL skills and ability to work with structured datasets.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to understand and deliver requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver to deadlines.

       

      Desirable (but not essential): 

      • Experience migrating reports from Excel or Tableau into Power BI.
      • Exposure to modern data platforms (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Azure).
      • Understanding of data modelling concepts (e.g. star schema).
      • Experience working within a centralised data or BI function.
      • Interest in developing stakeholder management and analytical capability further.
