Job Description Data & Analytics Manager 

The Data & Analytics Manager supports the implementation, monitoring, and optimization of web analytics tracking across digital platforms. This role ensures accurate data collection, helps generate insights from user behaviour, and assisting channel teams in making data-driven decisions. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist in setting up and maintaining tracking via Google Analytics (GA4)  
  • Implement and manage tags using Google Tag Manager (GTM)  
  • Configure events, conversions, and custom dimensions  
  • Validate tracking using debugging tools (e.g., GTM preview, browser dev tools)  
  • Support data layer implementation with developers  
  • Generate regular performance reports (traffic, engagement, conversions)  
  • Identify data discrepancies and troubleshoot tracking issues  
  • Assist in A/B testing tracking and campaign measurement  
  • Work with channel teams to track campaigns (UTMs, attribution)  
  • Maintain documentation of tracking setups and changes  

Job Requirements

Basic proficiency in:  

  • Google Analytics (preferably GA4)  
  • Google Tag Manager  

Understanding of:  

  • Event tracking, pageviews, and user sessions  
  • Data layers and tag firing rules  
  • UTM parameters and campaign tracking  

Familiarity with:  

  • HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript (for tag troubleshooting)  
  • Debugging tools (Tag Assistant, browser DevTools)  
  • Basic knowledge of:  
  • Conversion tracking (e.g., form submissions, clicks)  
  • Consent mode / cookie compliance (GDPR basics in regions like the UK/EU)  

Analytical Skills 

  • Ability to interpret data and identify trends  
  • Basic reporting skills using dashboards (e.g., GA reports, Looker Studio)  
  • Attention to detail in validating tracking accuracy  

Soft Skills 

  • Strong problem-solving mindset  
  • Good communication skills (especially with non-technical teams)  
  • Ability to follow documentation and processes  
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-changing digital environment  

Nice-to-Have (Not Mandatory) 

  • Experience with:  
  • Google Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio)  
  • Basic SQL or Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis  
  • Exposure to:  
  • A/B testing tools (e.g., Optimize alternatives)  
  • Marketing platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads)  
  • Certifications:  

Google Analytics Certification (Skillshop)
