Role Title: Credit Pricing Manager

BU/Segment: Analytics / Data / Banking
Location: London, Liverpool, United Kingdom (Hybrid, 1 day a week, office-based)
Employment Type: Contract (Umbrella Contractor) to start immediately. 
Experience: 6–9 years

 

The Credit Pricing Manager will be responsible for the hands-on development and delivery of pricing strategies across the Financial Services credit portfolio, including revolving accounts, instalments and card products. This is a delivery-focused role requiring strong practical experience in credit pricing, SQL, Python, analytical modelling, forecasting and performance tracking.

The role will use advanced analytics to optimise revenue, margin and customer value while maintaining effective risk controls, fair customer outcomes and regulatory compliance. Working closely with senior leadership and teams across Credit Risk, Product, Finance, Analytics and Engineering, the Credit Risk Manager will translate complex data into clear recommendations and deliver measurable pricing improvements.

 Experience within banking, insurance, retail finance or a retailer offering credit products is required.

As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies across revolving accounts, instalments, card portfolios and other Financial Services credit products. 

  • Take a hands-on role in credit pricing, using SQL and Python to conduct analysis, build models and deliver pricing improvements. 

  • Build and manage advanced analytical models for credit pricing, cashflow modelling, forecasting, customer valuation and portfolio performance. 

  • Define, calculate and monitor key valuation measures, including Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return and risk-adjusted margins.

  • Conduct pricing and fair value assessments to ensure competitive pricing, fair customer outcomes and regulatory compliance. 

  • Develop clear risk management frameworks for pricing strategies and testing, including defined controls, performance measures and actionable tracking. 

  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to optimise revenue, margin, customer value and overall portfolio performance. 

  • Design and implement automated reporting and dashboards to provide timely visibility of pricing, risk and commercial performance. 

  • Lead A/B testing and controlled experimentation to evaluate the customer, commercial and risk impact of pricing initiatives. 

  • Represent credit pricing at relevant governance forums, including Customer, Product and Credit Risk committees. 

  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, translating complex data and modelling outputs into clear commercial recommendations. 

  • Collaborate with Credit Risk, Product, Commercial, Finance, Analytics and Engineering teams to deliver pricing initiatives and strengthen analytical capabilities. 

  • Improve data infrastructure, analytical processes and governance supporting credit pricing decisions. 

  • Maintain the accuracy, integrity and consistency of data across all pricing models, reports, dashboards and analytical outputs. 

  • Monitor credit product and portfolio performance, identifying emerging risks, trends and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Lead and develop Pricing Managers and Junior Analysts while remaining actively involved in hands-on analytical delivery. 

  • Manage team recruitment, performance, absence, reward decisions and professional development.

 

Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role

  • Strong hands-on experience using SQL and Python to analyse data, build pricing models and deliver commercial outcomes. 

  • Essential experience in credit pricing, with a strong understanding of pricing strategies, credit risk and portfolio performance optimisation. 

  • Experience developing complex unit-level cashflow models for credit products. 

  • Strong knowledge of customer valuation and pricing measures, including NPV, IRR and risk-adjusted margins. 

  • Hands-on experience developing incrementality models, attribution models and advanced forecasting solutions. 

  • Experience working with revolving credit accounts, instalment products, card portfolios or retail finance products. 

  • Financial Services experience gained within banking, insurance, consumer credit or retail businesses offering credit products. 

  • Proficiency in BI and data visualisation platforms, such as Power BI or Tableau. 

  • Deep understanding of revenue management, fair value assessments, regulatory requirements and risk management within credit pricing.

  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience influencing revenue, margin and P&L performance. 

  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Experience collaborating with Credit Risk, Product, Commercial, Finance, Analytics and Engineering teams. 

  • Proven ability to lead and develop analytical or pricing teams while remaining actively involved in hands-on delivery. 

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills. 

  • Experience working within a marketplace or platform-based environment would be advantageous.
