Configurator

Location: Hybrid - London

Package: Negotiable + Benefits

Fixed Term Contract

You’ll play a key role in developing and improving how we use the platform, translating business needs into practical system solutions. Rather than traditional software development, the role focuses on configuration, automation and continuous improvement across workflows, insurer and product changes, documents, reporting and live services.

The day to day:

  • Configure and maintain File Manager / Claris FileMaker workflows, screens, data structures, documents and operational processes.
  • Deliver changes for insurer products, policy processing, regulatory updates, operational improvement and defect remediation.
  • Work with operational SMEs to understand business rules, edge cases, acceptance criteria and user impact.
  • Support data imports, exports, reconciliation, reporting and controlled remediation activity.
  • Investigate defects, data anomalies and live-service issues, then support fixes and preventative improvements.
  • Document configuration decisions, support notes and repeatable processes clearly.
  • Learn and build deeper File Manager / FileMaker knowledge alongside existing specialists.

How We Work

  • Work in a Build and Run model with clear ownership of change delivery and live-service support.
  • Deliver change in small, controlled increments with appropriate testing, business validation and release readiness.
  • Use a transparent prioritised backlog and work closely with business and technology colleagues.
  • Protect platform knowledge by documenting decisions, known behaviours and operational dependencies.
  • Follow agreed security, data protection, governance and release controls.

Our Technology Environment

  • Platform: File Manager / Claris FileMaker used to support 3XD insurance workflows and operational processing
  • Business processes: insurer and product change, policy administration, documents, accounts, bordereaux and operational controls
  • Data: imports, exports, reporting, reconciliation, data quality and remediation
  • Integration points: web journeys, APIs, insurer feeds and secure file-transfer processes supported by engineering colleagues
  • Practices: testing, release control, support documentation, security awareness and continuous improvement

About you:

  • A practical, technically minded person who is comfortable learning a specialist platform.
  • Experience configuring business systems, workflow tools, low-code platforms, operational systems or similar environments.
  • File Manager or Claris FileMaker experience would be valuable, but the right mindset and ability to learn are more important.
  • Ability to understand detailed business rules, data issues, process flows and operational exceptions.
  • Good analytical skills and the confidence to work with SMEs to turn requirements into workable configuration changes.
  • Understanding of testing, change control, data protection and secure handling of customer and insurer information.
  • Clear communication, ownership and willingness to support live operational processes.
  • Focuses on File Manager / FileMaker configuration and platform knowledge rather than general software engineering.
  • Bridges the gap between operational process, insurance business rules and system configuration.
  • Works closely with web, API, integration, data and QA colleagues to deliver end-to-end change safely.

The rewards:

  • A negotiable basic salary and all the normal benefits you’d expect (Holiday, company pension etc.)
  • A collaborative, open and honest environment that is designed to deliver the best outcomes to our clients and staff
  • A flexible working methodology to enable you to be where you need to be, if you don’t need to be in an office then don’t, if you want to be in an office your welcome to use one.
  • An environment built around supporting and developing our staff with funding available for relevant professional qualifications.
