As a Communications Executive, you will play a key role in supporting our growing communications function, helping to drive awareness of our market leading insurance proposition with brokers, customers and the wider industry. Reporting into our Senior Communications Manager, you’ll join a fun, collaborative team in a fast-paced environment where you’ll help develop content, generate coverage and generally make great things happen.
In this role, you’ll support the communications team with day-to-day coordination using workflow tools such as Monday.com, keeping the communications calendar up to date and ensuring the team stays organised. You’ll track media coverage and prepare regular reports, support our awards programme by drafting and submitting entries, and upload press releases and content to our online resource centre. You’ll work closely with our underwriting teams to help create clear and engaging content, and partner with the content team to ensure media coverage, blogs and articles align with wider marketing activities. You’ll also work with the digital team to amplify coverage across our social media channels.
The role will also support Internal Communications. You’ll help draft internal news items, assist with creating video content for colleagues, and support the planning and delivery of internal events and initiatives, helping to ensure our people are informed, engaged and connected to what’s happening across the business.

This role is ideal for someone early in their communications career, who has already built a solid grounding in PR or comms and is ready to take the next step. You’ll bring hands-on experience, ideally gained within a B2B environment, and the enthusiasm to grow, learn and take on more responsibility in a busy, dynamic team.
As you develop, you’ll have opportunities to draft press releases, expert comments and reactive statements with guidance, contribute to communications campaigns that build brand awareness and support broker engagement, and work alongside the Senior Communications Manager on campaign planning and delivery. You’ll also help build relationships with trade media, support journalist enquiries and assist internal teams with ad hoc communications needs.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities
  • Handle day-to-day administration for the communications team using workflow tools (e.g., Monday.com), keeping the communications calendar up to date and coordinating team activity.
  • Track media coverage and prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Assist with CFC’s awards programme, including drafting and submitting award entries.
  • Upload press releases and content to the online resource centre.
  • Work with underwriting teams to help create clear, engaging content.
  • Partner with the content team to ensure media coverage, blogs and articles align with wider marketing activities. 
  • Support the digital team by sharing and amplifying coverage across social media channels.
  • Draft press releases, expert comments and reactive statements with guidance and support.
  •  Contribute to communications campaigns that build brand awareness and support broker engagement.
  • Work closely with the Senior Communications Manager on campaign planning and delivery.
  • Build relationships with trade media and help manage journalist enquiries.
  • Support Internal Communications by drafting news items and updates for internal channels, with guidance and review.
  • Assist with the creation of internal video content, including coordinating logistics, scripts and basic editing or formatting support.
  • Help plan, coordinate and promote internal events and engagement activities, working with stakeholders across the business.
  • Support internal stakeholders and assist with ad‑hoc communication requests as needed.

About you
  • Strong multi‑tasker with excellent time and task management skills.

  • Creative thinker and collaborative team player with a proactive, self-starter mindset.
  • Exceptional writing skills with strong attention to detail and an interest in creating compelling stories.
  • Confident communicator with strong relationship building skills, including with senior stakeholders.
  • High levels of resilience, emotional intelligence and the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
  • Quick learner able to pick up new tools, processes and industry knowledge at pace.
  • Educated to degree level, ideally in a related field; Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing preferred
  • Early career experience gained within PR or communications, (B2B experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Good working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and workflow tools e.g., Monday.com.
  •  Solid understanding of key communications channels, including PR, owned, social and digital. 
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms and basic design and video editing tools (desirable but not required)
