The Role

FT Live is seeking a commercially driven Commercial Manager to join its high-performing team. FT Live delivers a global portfolio of premium events, from flagship conferences and awards to bespoke experiences, bringing together influential leaders across industries.

In this role, you will drive sponsorship revenue by building meaningful relationships with senior decision-makers across global organisations. Working closely with content, marketing and operations teams, you will create integrated commercial solutions that align with client objectives and the FT’s editorial excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Secure high-value sponsorship deals across FT Live’s portfolio of physical and digital events

  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, client consultation, proposal development, negotiation and revenue delivery

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts while identifying opportunities for growth

  • Proactively generate new business and exceed individual revenue targets

  • Analyse assigned sectors and territories to prioritise high-potential opportunities

  • Collaborate with FT advertising, research and content teams to deliver integrated client solutions

  • Represent FT Live at industry events, building networks both in the UK and internationally

  • Consistently meet and exceed activity metrics and performance targets

Required Skills and Experience
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders

  • Proven experience working in a target-driven sales or business development environment

  • Demonstrated ability to generate new revenue streams and grow existing accounts

  • Highly organised, self-motivated and proactive approach to work

  • Commercial awareness with the ability to adapt sales strategies to client needs

  • Minimum of 12 months’ experience in sales, business development or account management

Desirable
  • Experience selling sponsorships, events or media solutions

  • Ability to confidently discuss global business topics with senior clients

  • Strong proposal writing, negotiation and client management skills

  • Experience developing high-value accounts and delivering against ambitious targets

  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce

  • Experience working within a large, fast-paced international organisation
