Cloud Engineer

Staines (TW18 3DZ) – preferred

OR London (EC2R 7HJ) OR Brighton (BN1 4FY)

Hybrid Working - requirement to attend Staines office 1x per week.

Permanent  

Full Time – 37.5 Hours  

From £37, 200 - £46,400 (negotiable depending on experience) + Fantastic Benefits

 As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you’ll play an important role in supporting the platforms that power our digital services. These platforms help us deliver safe, reliable and secure healthcare experiences to our customers and colleagues every day.

You’ll work across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), using modern tools like Terraform to build and manage cloud infrastructure. You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering team, learning from experienced colleagues while building your own expertise in cloud platforms, automation and operations.

How you’ll help us make health happen 

  • Support cloud platform services across Azure and GCP, following established standards and best practice

  • Help provision, configure and manage cloud infrastructure

  • Work with Terraform to develop and maintain infrastructure as code

  • Support and improve CI/CD pipelines for platform and infrastructure deployments

  • Monitor platform performance and help resolve issues when they arise

  • Assist with routine maintenance, patching and upgrades

  • Follow security, governance and compliance requirements

  • Contribute to documentation, including runbooks and standard processes

  • Work closely with application, security and operations teams

  • Learn from senior engineers while taking ownership of defined tasks

Key Skills and responsibilities required for this role 

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, networking, identity)

  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Hands-on experience with Terraform (or similar Infrastructure as Code tools)

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices

  • Basic scripting skills (e.g. Bash, PowerShell or Python)

  • Awareness of cloud networking, access controls and tagging

It would also be great if you have:

  • An understanding of cloud security principles

  • Awareness of reliability and availability concepts

  • Experience supporting production environments

  • Interest in automation and DevOps ways of working
