Regional Sales Manager – APAC (Defence Systems)
Introduction
Teledyne FLIR Defense, part of Teledyne Technologies, delivers advanced sensing and imaging solutions that support critical defence missions worldwide. We are seeking a high‑performing sales professional to help grow our APAC defence business, with a primary focus on Japan.
If you enjoy shaping pursuit strategies, working directly with military and government customers, and closing complex programmes that matter, this role offers real ownership and impact within a collaborative global team.
You will work across multiple product lines and functions—sales, product management, engineering, services, and compliance—building long‑term customer relationships and a sustainable pipeline that drives future growth.
What you’ll do
  • Lead and execute pursuit strategies for high‑value defence programmes across APAC
  • Own the end‑to‑end sales process, from opportunity identification through order capture and post‑sales support
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, end users, and integrators
  • Respond to RFQs, RFPs, demonstrations, and information requests in a timely, disciplined manner
  • Analyse market needs and competitive dynamics, providing actionable feedback to leadership
  • Forecast revenue accurately and deliver predictable order growth
  • Support licensing, export, and administrative requirements in line with regulations
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to align solutions with customer requirements
What you need
  • Required: Proven sales experience in military or para‑public defence markets
  • Required: Ability to sell through government tenders and competitive bids
  • Required: Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills
  • Required: Ability to work independently and across global teams
  • Advantage: Experience with EO/IR or thermal imaging systems
  • Advantage: Exposure to airborne, land, maritime, or border protection markets
  • Advantage: Military background
  • Advantage: Japanese language capability
What we offer
  • A mission‑driven role supporting global defence and security customers
  • Exposure to advanced EO/IR technologies across multiple platforms
  • Collaboration within a global, multidisciplinary sales organisation
  • Long‑term stability as part of Teledyne Technologies
  • Opportunities to influence strategy and future product direction
What happens next
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, followed by a recruiter discussion and interviews with the hiring team. Timelines may vary.
Teledyne FLIR Defense is committed to ethical business practices and compliance with applicable trade, export, and anti‑corruption regulations.

Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards. We require all employees to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, rules and regulatory orders. Our reputation for honesty, integrity and high ethics is as important to us as our reputation for making innovative sensing solutions.
