Make an Impact at RSM UK

At RSM, our consulting team brings together diverse advisory experts to deliver our six core solutions: business transformation, forensic, deal services, restructuring, finance function support, and risk and governance.
Our solutions are designed to address the unique needs, challenges, and opportunities our clients face as they strive to achieve their aspirations and organisational goals. Whether it’s supporting global expansion, developing acquisition strategies, facilitating private equity investments, or collaborating with boards to manage risk and governance, our consulting experts work as one cohesive team. We prioritise simplicity, providing data-driven insights, value-added assurance, and high-quality execution to empower our clients in building sustainable, future-fit businesses.
It’s an exciting time to join our consulting team, as we embark on ambitious growth plans that promise to create diverse career opportunities. We are committed to enhancing our six solutions, expanding and developing our team of expert consultants, embracing a digital-first approach, strengthening our global presence, and building strong client relationships.
As an Associate Director within the Business Transformation team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering data solutions using a variety of modern cloud-based platforms. You will also advise clients on their current data landscape and maturity, shaping their data strategies and future roadmaps.

About the role

As part of the team, you will be working closely with clients, and it is therefore critical that you can establish trust and credibility quickly to build effective relationships.

It goes without saying that you are a team player, have a ‘can do’ attitude and understand that the best solutions come from collaboration and exchange of ideas.

You will be a problem solver, creative thinker, and self-starter, who is organised, proactive and inquisitive. Ideally you will already have been involved in Transformation projects and can demonstrate the value delivered to organisations with which you’ve worked. You should be comfortable in managing a team and juggling multiple deadlines.

You will contribute to client proposals and presentations, and our clients will see you as a trusted advisor to work closely with them in identifying, analysing, and solving their business challenges.

In exchange, we offer exciting client opportunities, a clear and concise career development path, and promotion opportunities for those with the drive and the commitment to succeed in a dynamic environment, whilst delivering exceptional service to clients and becoming part of a high performing team.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Leading multiple data engagements end-to-end, owning quality, commercials, risk and client outcomes.
  • Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and acting as their advisor on data strategy, migration, analytics and AI.
  • Shaping and productising propositions, including dashboard-to-market offerings, deals analytics and AI accelerators, and taking them to market.
  • Driving business development: originating opportunities, scoping and pricing work, writing proposals and converting pipeline.
  • Growing the team: recruiting, developing and mentoring consultants and engineers, and building a strong delivery bench.
  • Establishing the principle that data foundations and operating model design precede tooling, and holding that discipline across engagements.

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Strong academic record: preferably with a relevant or business-focused degree (such as business, data analytics, computer science, or information systems) degree
  • A track record of leading and delivering data and analytics engagements, ideally within a professional services or consulting environment.
  • Experience managing consulting teams, both on delivery and on people development.
  • Participate in/lead data analytics assessment engagements, planning and facilitating workshops to confirm objectives and requirements, identifying gaps in data and processes, and developing the client’s data analytics roadmap
  • Support clients and prospects in their evaluation of Business Intelligence solutions providing information and demonstrations to help them assess fit for their business
  • Demonstrable business development experience: originating, scoping, pricing and winning work, and writing high-quality proposals.
  • The ability to translate business problems into data requirements and to challenge and shape client thinking on data strategy and readiness.
  • Strong understanding of the data lifecycle: sourcing, cleansing, transformation, warehousing, ETL/ELT, modelling and visualisation.
  • Understanding of key finance processes and data objects (GL, AP, AR) and how they inform analytics and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex ideas to non-technical senior stakeholders.
  • Effective project and commercial management, able to run multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Operates in line with RSM's core values of excellence, teamwork, integrity, respect and stewardship.

Desirable

  • Experience of data migration and warehousing, including source-to-target mapping and delivery on complex, multi-entity migrations.
  • Hands-on or strong working knowledge of Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, Python or R.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric and the Azure data stack.
  • Understanding of Microsoft business intelligence platforms, including SQL Server Databases, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Utilities, Azure Data Resources, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Bricks and Azure Analysis Services
  • Experience deploying or advising on AI in a finance or analytics context, including Copilot and agentic tooling.
  • Exposure to delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scrum or Lean, and to formal data quality and master data practices.
What we can offer you

We recognise that our people are our most important assets. That’s why we offer a flexible reward and benefits package that will help you have fulfilling experience, both in and out of work.

  • Hybrid and flexible working.
  • 27 days holiday (with the option of purchasing additional days).
  • Lifestyle, health, and wellbeing including financial wellbeing benefits such as financial tools, electric car scheme and access to a virtual GP.
  • Access to a suite of 300+ courses on demand developed by our inhouse talent development team.
Flexible Working
