The Role

This role sits within the B2B EMEA Sales team, supporting the Tech and Energy verticals (Enterprise Tech, Consumer Tech and Energy). Reporting to the Group Head of Tech & Energy, the Account Coordinator plays a key role in driving new business opportunities and supporting revenue growth across the team’s portfolio.

As a first point of contact for prospective clients, you will act as an ambassador for the FT, identifying and qualifying leads, engaging with decision-makers and helping to build a strong pipeline. This is a highly collaborative role, offering exposure across sales, marketing and editorial teams, and an excellent entry point into media sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the generation of new business opportunities through market and lead research, proposing opportunities to the team
  • Respond to inbound leads efficiently, qualifying opportunities and determining appropriate follow-up
  • Support revenue growth across the team’s client portfolio and identify upsell opportunities
  • Build knowledge of the Tech and Energy sectors to inform outreach strategies and conversations
  • Monitor competitor activity and use insights to inform targeting and positioning
  • Accurately record and track all sales activity using Salesforce
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maximise commercial opportunities
  • Develop and maintain an events database to support client engagement and networking
  • Contribute to team knowledge-sharing through presentations on market trends or competitor insights
  • Support the delivery and coordination of FT Special Reports
  • Work closely with European colleagues to support cross-market initiatives and sector-specific requests
Required Skills and Experience
  • Strong interest in sales, media, or commercial roles, with confidence in client outreach and relationship building
  • Comfortable with cold calling and engaging with prospective clients at different levels of seniority
  • Ability to identify leads through market awareness, industry news and research
  • High attention to detail, particularly in maintaining accurate records and CRM data
  • Willingness to learn and quickly develop proficiency in Salesforce or similar tools
  • Curiosity about Tech and Energy sectors, with an interest in market trends and developments
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Previous experience or internship in digital advertising or media is advantageous but not essential
Desirable
  • Exposure to B2B sales environments
  • Familiarity with media, publishing or advertising industries
  • Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce

We currently operate a hybrid model which requires staff to work onsite 50% of the time, subject to role requirements & regular review.
