Wasabi Technologies Employee Perspectives

Tell us about your company’s mission. How does that mission influence the company culture? Did that mission impact your decision to join the team?

Wasabi’s mission as a company is to provide cloud storage for the world’s data. This mission was set forth by David Friend and Jeff Flowers, Wasabi’s founders, as a business, but their startup energy has turned cloud storage from a practical business need into a company where people are excited for one another and the overall team’s successes. I joined when Wasabi had just around 200 employees and we have nearly tripled in the past four years. The culture’s incredibly positive vibe has continued throughout the company’s growth.

From your perspective, how does your work connect to the overall company mission?

My role at Wasabi has a direct connection to the company’s H.O.T. culture values (humility, ownership and togetherness) and the mission of selling cloud storage. My work on sponsorship events — showcasing our brand is in the fabric of my day-to-day job — and as a corporate events planner, working each year to put on a well-thought-out, engaging and productive sales kickoff year after year, provide opportunities for our sales teams to become energized to continue to grow the company.

What advice would you give a jobseeker hoping to join your company?

Be open to being surprised. Wasabi is not like other companies; we celebrate our individual and collective successes. If you are someone that wants to expand your personal horizons and work with a team that consistently gets better, then get ready to level up!

Wasabi Technologies Employee Reviews

Wasabi has enabled me to not only advance my career with a hypergrowth tech company, but to collaborate with my team remotely, all the way from California, without feeling like I'm missing out on a traditional office environment.

Our Engineering groups are located all over the US and around the world. We often work for days on end finding and fixing issues, without much delay at all between our mornings and evenings. We were already a fairly remote-based Engineering organization before 2020, so the transition to fully distributed was pretty easy.
