Insight Terra was established to address a rapid and widespread need for more effective monitoring of both the built and natural environments, in situations where one presents a threat to the other. Catastrophic infrastructure failure events over the last few years in a number of sectors including mining and water resources have been due to a number of factors, including climate change and ineffective monitoring and risk management. The technology is now available to collect, validate, transform, analyse and visualize data from a huge range of different monitoring sources, on a continuous basis, providing hitherto unobtainable insight into the status and integrity of infrastructure and the environment in which it is situated. The Insight Platform from Insight Terra is a fully managed, Edge to Cloud Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) data management software-as-a-service. It is built on a fault-tolerant microservices architecture and hosted in the cloud to enable rapid and agile reconfiguration and scaling. The platform provides clients with a capability at a global scale to collect risk monitoring data from multiple sources, within critical environmental and infrastructure verticals, such as mining, geo-hazards, and water resources.

The Insight Platform enables agile integration of varied data acquisition technologies and data sources from anywhere, enabling the continuous automated collection, validation, and transformation of accurate and frequently recurrent data. The analysis of this data delivers actionable insights, forming a cornerstone of any quantitative risk analysis framework. Near real-time data processing combined with programmable alerts and journaling enables a client to better manage their facility risks and also meet or exceed their regulatory and standards compliance obligations, such as GISTM in the mining sector.
