Serve as a trusted technical advisor to service provider customers throughout the sales cycle. Translate network requirements into solution designs, lead technical discussions and RFP/RFQ responses, deliver presentations and demonstrations, resolve complex challenges, and provide security expertise. Build customer and cross-functional relationships, deliver knowledge-transfer sessions, and communicate market and portfolio value. The role requires extensive technical sales experience in telecommunications or networking, strong optical networking expertise, and customer-facing security knowledge.

Support product introductions by maintaining optical lab systems, creating and validating technical deliverables, delivering demos and trials, providing pre/post-sales technical consultation, capturing product issues and routing feedback to R&D, and resolving escalated field issues.

The Data Management Lead defines data strategy and architecture for telecom data, aligning it with AI and automation, while driving product innovation and implementing scalable solutions.

Support post-sales network solution engineering: translate designs into implementation plans, analyze customer network data, assist deployments, reconfigurations, and migrations, troubleshoot deployment package issues, and coordinate across engineering, field, and support teams under senior supervision.

Develop optimization models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical solutions for global supply chain challenges, including network design, inventory, forecasting, and transportation. Clean and analyze large datasets, build production-ready solutions in Python or R, create dashboards, and communicate actionable insights. Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams to improve cost, service performance, and sustainability.

Lead technical pre-sales for subsea networking opportunities: design and validate submarine network architectures, run demonstrations/trials, produce RFx responses, cost models and engineering documentation, evaluate technology trade-offs, and coordinate cross-functional teams to position Ciena's submarine portfolio and inform product enhancements.
