Own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, backlog, and delivery of HRIS capabilities for school stakeholders. Lead requirements gathering, prioritisation, agile ceremonies, UX iteration, compliance, and cross-functional delivery. Partner with engineering, design, sales, marketing, finance, and legal teams to support commercial growth and product launches. Represent the platform with customers and education stakeholders while using product analytics to guide decisions and continuous improvement.

Manage payroll implementations for schools and Multi-Academy Trusts, including parallel payroll runs, detailed YTD reconciliations, data validation, system audits, compliance checks, and discrepancy resolution. The role ensures accurate payroll builds, adherence to UK payroll and pension legislation, and effective operational handover. Responsibilities also include maintaining system frameworks, preparing reconciliation documentation and payroll journals, supporting stakeholders, and following UK GDPR and information security protocols.

Lead Arbor’s centralized product design function, setting design strategy, standards, systems, and ways of working across its B2B SaaS product portfolio. Manage and mentor designers, integrate design practices across acquired products, advocate for design at leadership level, and drive usability through research and testing. Partner with product and engineering leaders on product strategy, UX/UI improvements, design systems, and AI-augmented workflows.

Improve the resilience, performance, scalability, and maturity of Arbor’s platform infrastructure. Responsibilities include enhancing high availability, testing, disaster recovery, CI/CD pipelines, deployment patterns, incident response, post-mortems, documentation, and knowledge sharing. The role works closely with platform, SRE, architecture, and engineering teams while operating large-scale AWS cloud systems and infrastructure as code.

Deliver online and in-person training and consultancy to schools, trusts, and partners using Arbor MIS. Assess customer needs, explain system functionality, support managed services, troubleshoot issues, conduct audits, maintain training materials, and adapt to product and legislative changes. The role requires strong communication, presentation, education-sector knowledge, customer focus, and regular travel to client sites and Arbor offices.

Leads platform operations across SRE, security engineering, and developer experience for Arbor’s SaaS applications. Owns availability, SLOs, incident management, vulnerability remediation, internal developer platforms, CI/CD, production ownership, and engineering productivity metrics. Builds engineering leadership, drives cross-functional accountability, and oversees cloud and infrastructure standards using AWS and Terraform. The role also guides responsible AIOps adoption, compliance alignment, and operational transformation across multiple products and markets.

Lead the technical direction and architecture for Arbor’s data platform, spanning transactional, analytical, and AI systems. Define target architectures, guide technical leads, support product delivery, and enable AI-first engineering through LLM orchestration, RAG, and real-time inference infrastructure. The role includes mentoring, architectural reviews, data governance, security, compliance, observability, DataOps, cloud platform cost optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with product and commercial leaders.

Lead development of high-impact backend features for Arbor's core systems: design scalable PHP services, integrate third-party APIs, improve test coverage, author documentation, mentor engineers, and drive quality and delivery improvements across the team.
