It's inspiring to lead a cross-continental team that directly impacts how millions of people securely interact with merchants every single day.

I was drawn to Adyen’s unique blend of "startup energy" and market stability. I wanted an environment where "building your own ideas" isn't just encouraged, but expected. I knew it was a fit when I realized the culture prioritizes directness and speed over the typical corporate bureaucracy found at other established firms.

In the fintech industry, Adyen has a unique advantage: we hold a banking license. That was one of the most attractive factors for my joining the team. It means that we’re not just providing a modern payment processing service, but we also provide seamless end-to-end integration of embedded financial products with one platform. 

It also means there is a huge innovation space, a lot of functionality customers can leverage as a differentiation factor for Adyen and customers, as a lot of new products and ideas could be spun out on top of that foundation.
