Writer/Editor

GENERAL PURPOSE
Responsible for teaming with marketing partners, editors, graphic designers, digital product designers, project managers, and others to develop customer-focused communications and experiences that bring the MillerKnoll brand, and it’s collective of brands, to life across the market segments and regions that we serve.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Craft thoughtful editorial content with consideration of the audience’s needs and the capabilities of the channel or platform (e.g., social media, email marketing, sales-facilitated tools, millerknoll.com, hermanmiller.com, knoll-int.com etc.)
• Absorb the brand voices and editorial styles of MillerKnoll and other brands in the collective in the International Contract business.
• Provide editorial support for brand product launches including key messages, marketing materials, sales tools, social content, advertising and press releases.
• Work with project sponsors and creative team members to understand the audiences, business objectives, and goals of every project.
• Work with Manager, Brand Design and Brand Operations Manager to prioritise work using project management tools and ensure consistent and effective processes are established for ongoing completion of work.
• Synthesize inputs from marketing partners, internal experts, and other resources into clear, effective messaging.
• Edit your own work and occasionally the work of your colleagues for accuracy, consistency, and style.
• Contribute ideas and inspiration to help shape our team culture within the Global Creative Studio and improve our collaborations and work processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Advertising, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred; will consider candidates with equivalent education and/or experience
• 5 or more years of experience working in advertising or marketing/communications, with editorial involvement from concept development to publication.
• Experience working collaboratively with other creative partners, particularly visual/graphic designers, to bring words and pictures together in the service of stronger storytelling
• Is able to drive (internal / external) relationships forward smoothly.
• Can manage many tasks simultaneously
• Is highly collaborative with a low-noise approach to problem solving.
• Consults when needed (Understands stakeholders vs. spectators)
• Is interested in architecture, interior or industrial design or having relevant experience working in the architecture and design industry.
Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrated aptitude for analytical thinking, writing, and editing
• Demonstrated experience, and ability, to write in various brand voices and styles
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels and functions within the organisation.
• Proven understanding of practical applications of SEO/SEM strategies as they relate to content.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to use technology to communicate effectively and create, share, and review content.
• Comfortable working as part of a distributed international team
