The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Workday Report Writer with additional skills in HCM analysis. The primary focus of this role will be on designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards within the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system. The ideal candidate will also provide support for Workday HCM functionalities and processes.
Responsibilities
1. Workday Reporting (Primary Focus – 70%):
- Design, develop, configure, and test simple to complex Workday reports (advanced, matrix, composite, BIRT) utilizing Workday Report Writer and Report Designer, as well as other tools and available technologies
- Design, develop, configure, complex Workday reports for the HCM modules (e.g., Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting)
- Gather reporting requirements from stakeholders and translate them into effective reporting solutions
- Optimize existing reports for better performance and user experience
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports
- Provide training and support to end-users on report usage and interpretation
2. Workday HCM Analysis(Secondary Focus - 30%):
- Configure and maintain Workday Core HCM
- Analyze business processes and recommend improvements using Workday best practices
- Provide functional support for Workday HCM, including troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions
- Participate in testing during Workday updates and new feature implementations
- Collaborate with IT, HR, and other departments to ensure system integrity and data accuracy
3. General:
- Stay current with Workday updates, new features, and best practices
- Document system configurations, report specifications, and processes
- Participate in Workday-related projects and initiatives
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other HRIS team members
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience AND 5 years of relevant work experience
- 3+ years of experience with Workday HCM, including system configuration and maintenance
- 3+ years of experience with Workday Report Writer and Advanced Report Writer
- Strong understanding of HR processes and best practices
- Proficiency in creating complex calculated fields and using advanced functions in Workday
- Experience with Workday security and data privacy concepts
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Very proficient in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, x-lookup, index-match, automating repetitive processes)
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Understand the documentation requirements for collecting requirements, development, UAT and final deployment in a SOX compliance environment
- Must be able to work independently, as well as function as an effective team member in a local and virtual team development environment, requiring a moderate level of guidance and direction to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly
- Ability to deliver across multiple tasks and deadlines, while working in a time critical environment and prioritizing your workload effectively and adapt to shifting priorities
- This combined role requires a versatile professional who can balance both the analytical aspects of Workday HCM and the technical skills needed for advanced reporting.
Desired:
- Experience with Workday Studio and BIRT reporting
- Knowledge of SQL and other database query languages
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Project management experience
- HRIS or related HR technology experience

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$82,100-$172,400
