You will manage and mentor our technical and managerial leads to ensure engineering excellence, leading by example to coach and inspire the efficient delivery of high-quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team environment, empowering engineers to thrive. Encourage and demonstrate open communication, and foster a culture of mutual respect and support, ensuring an engaged and high-performing team.
  • Review and implement appropriate and scalable processes for objective setting, performance reviews, and career development to support the team’s growth.
  • Design and evolve the organisational structure of the team.
  • Lead headcount planning and hiring strategies to proactively identify and close critical skills gaps.
  • Balance the cadence of feature releases against platform stability and technical debt to ensure the team meets business goals without compromising quality or uptime.
  • Collaborate with Product, Operations, Detection, Sales, and other teams to ensure alignment and transparency across the company.
  • Oversee vendor and partner relationships, ensuring effective use of external resources and cost-efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement partners, tools, frameworks and processes that improve engineering efficiency.
  • Maintain oversight of compliance and audit progress, acting as an escalation point to resolve blockers and any cross-team friction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, managing large distributed teams (10+ people), covering the full lifecycle of people management from coaching and development to managing underperformance
  • A strong technical background with expertise in software development and delivery, with a focus on:
    • Deep understanding of cloud-native environments (GCP desirable)
    • Proven ability in architectural decision-making and technical trade-offs
    • Expertise in modern software tooling and CI/CD delivery processes
  • Experience in SaaS or complex technology environments is essential; background in FinTech or Payments is a plus
  • Experience managing compliance, audit and security best practices
  • Skilled in organisational leadership, with the ability to balance technical strategy, people development and business priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to engage effectively across multiple functions in technical and non-technical areas

Benefits
