Visualisation & Automation Analyst - Financial Services (1 Year FTC)
Summary
The Visualisation & Automation role is responsible for delivering enterprise-level analytical reporting across the M&S Financial Services domain. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of management information and performance reporting — from building automated data pipelines to developing scalable, insight-led dashboards — enabling near real-time performance tracking and confident, data-driven decision-making.
This role plays a key part in providing a single, trusted view of customer and commercial performance, supporting both Financial Services and the wider M&S business.
This is a hands-on technical role, requiring strong experience in Power BI (including DAX and Power Query) and in building automated data pipelines using SQL and PySpark.
What you'll do
Design and deliver a scalable Power BI reporting suite, providing clear, actionable dashboards for stakeholders from operational teams to senior leadership
Build and maintain automated data pipelines using SQL and PySpark, ensuring efficient processing of large-scale customer and transactional data
Ensure reliable data integration and robust modelling across Credit, Payments, General Insurance, and Travel Money, aligned to M&S standards
Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective analytical and reporting solutions
Uphold strong data governance, quality, and control standards to ensure trusted, high-performing reporting for decision-making
Who you are
Highly numerate and data literate, with a strong analytical mindset
Advanced Power BI skills, including building complex dashboards using DAX and Power Query
Proven experience designing and managing automated data pipelines using SQL and PySpark
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large, high-volume datasets and optimise for near real-time performance
Solid understanding of data modelling, analytical best practices, and scalable reporting architectures
