Key responsibilities

  • Lead the production and delivery of short-term (~ 24 month) crude oil market analysis and forecasts, including ultimate accountability for the short-term global crude oil price forecast.

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of new products that enhance our short-term oil offering.

  • Coach and mentor analysts to develop expertise and analytical excellence across the wider team.

Experience

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in oil market analysis or commercial strategy, ideally gained within an major energy company, trading organisation, or a leading firm in research, analytics or related services.

They will have:

  • At least 10–15 years of relevant industry experience, with a strong understanding of oil supply and demand dynamics and pricing drivers.

  • A proven track record of delivering market analysis and insight that informs strategic or trading decisions.

  • Established senior relationships across the energy sector (c-suite, chief economist, ministry level) and credibility as a thought leader or subject matter expert.

  • Strong communication skills, with experience presenting to senior executives, clients, and the media.
