Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is Santander's global division that supports some of the world's most complex and sophisticated corporate and institutional clients, offering customised services and value-added wholesale products to best meet their needs.

Global Transaction Banking (GTB) is part of Santander Global Banking & Markets and is responsible for working capital financing, risk mitigation solutions (inventory, receivables or payables) in addition to Trade Finance (guarantees, LCs), Asset Finance Solutions (export finance/leasing) and Cash Management. 

The difference you’ll make:

  • Helping clients achieve their strategic goals by showing the how the Santander’s Trade Finance products can support

  • Advising clients and prospects on how they can implement Trade Finance solutions and the impact of such solutions on key metrics

  • Building sector expertise and analysing trends on the relevant sector in relation with the Santander Trade Finance products

  • Accompany CIB in senior level client meetings to share the Santander vision

  • Delivering an income target on a pre-agreed portfolio of clients grouped by sector, ensuring quantum and quality of results

  • Cross-selling other GTB products (ECA, cash), introducing the appropriate counterparty, as and when the opportunity arises

  • Working with CIB to develop commercial plans, business strategies, risk presentations and similar across the portfolio

  • Ensuring adequate follow-up on transactions deliver new opportunities and revenue

  • Monitoring performance of the business and the evolution of the pipeline, reporting performance

  • Coordinating with the risk department on specific transactions, ensuring risk appetite is aligned with commercial plans for the client

The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for success in this role.

  • Previous experience in a sales role within the financial services industry, with direct P&L responsibility

  • In-depth knowledge of Trade finance including Receivables Discounting, Supply Chain Finance & Structured Trade Finance

  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to marketing and sales with an ability to place the client at the centre of the process

  • Ability to adopt, widen and understand the GTB UK product portfolio to enable cross-selling

  • Well-developed planning, organisation and communication skills

  • Proactive approach towards working independently and in teams

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Asset finance (ECA & leasing) and Cash Management product knowledge

  • Spanish language skills

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs.

  • Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.

  • We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.

  • 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
