Job Role:

The Venue Technology Manager is TOCA Social's on-the-ground technology lead for the UK and European venues. This is a hands-on, execution-first role responsible for the daily performance, stability and optimisation of all guest-facing and operational technology across four venues. Working as the primary technology partner to the Operations Managers and General Managers in each venue, this role ensures that tech never gets in the way of a great guest experience. You will be the first line of support when things go wrong, the driving force behind preventative maintenance when things are going right, and a key contributor to new venue openings and technology improvement projects. You report into the Head of Venue Technology and work in close partnership with the UK & Europe Ops Director to ensure technology serves the guest and the team at every moment.

Role & Responsibilities 

Technology Operations & Uptime

  • Own the daily performance and stability of all guest-facing and operational technology across The O2, Birmingham, Westfield White City and Paris
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all technical issues raised by General Managers, Operations Managers and venue teams
  • Prioritise and resolve faults rapidly to minimise guest disruption and operational downtime guest impact always drives prioritisation
  • Conduct structured weekly venue visits to each UK site performing live system health checks, proactive troubleshooting and in-service support
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules to pre-empt system failures before they affect the guest experience
  • Maintain and oversee all venue technology systems, including:
  • Game box uptime, playing surface (turf) and game experience quality
  • Guest-facing tech — totems, leaderboards, guest screens, arcade machines, QR codes, face scanner, F&B ordering kiosks and photobooth integrations
  • Transactional systems — Tevalis EPOS (UK), Dojo PDQs and SevenRooms booking CRM
  • Operational infrastructure: guest services computers, radios, CCTV, door access and AV systems
  • MarketMan inventory management and associated integrations
  • Cover or support Techspert Captains and venue Techsperts when required — this role is fully trained in Techspert capability

Techspert Partnership & Venue Team Support

  • Act as a daily technology partner to General Managers, Operations Managers and venue teams — present, responsive and solutions-focused
  • Work in close collaboration with Techspert Captains at each venue on ticket triage, fault resolution and performance management
  • Embed tech confidence across venue teams through hands-on guidance, troubleshooting support and regular informal coaching
  • Participate in operational leadership meetings to share system performance insights and align on upcoming priorities
  • Ensure venue teams understand the technology around them reducing dependency on escalation for routine issues
  • Provide direct support to the Paris venue remote as standard, on-site when required for openings, projects or escalated issues

EPOS & Systems Administration

  • Own the full administration of Tevalis EPOS across all UK venues menu updates, pricing changes, reporting configuration and device management
  • Ensure EPOS configuration is consistent, accurate and aligned across all venues at all times
  • Liaise with Finance and Operations to support accurate revenue reporting, POS integration and reconciliation processes
  • Maintain SevenRooms booking CRM configuration, integrations and reporting in partnership with the Head of Business Systems
  • Support the ongoing administration of MarketMan inventory management across the UK estate

Ticketing, Reporting & Prioritisation

  • Manage the technology ticketing system logging, triaging and tracking all issues through to resolution
  • Develop and maintain a clear prioritisation framework for tech issues, based on guest impact, operational disruption and commercial risk
  • Report on system uptime, fault resolution timelines and guest-impacting incidents to the Head of Venue Technology on a regular basis
  • Identify patterns and systemic issues from ticket data escalating and proposing long-term improvement projects where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activity, system changes and supplier interactions

Training, Upskilling & Documentation

  • Deliver structured technology training to venue teams covering EPOS, kiosks, AV systems, QR platforms, SevenRooms and Dojo tools
  • Create and maintain clear, practical training guides, system playbooks and troubleshooting documentation for all venues
  • Update technical training materials whenever systems change, ensuring venues always have current and accurate resources
  • Support the onboarding of new venue team members on all technology systems as part of the wider induction process
  • 6–8 week structured onboarding training at our Acton facility, including shadowing and in-depth learning of box mechanics, game systems and hardware anatomy

Events & AV Support

  • Support the planning and delivery of corporate events and large-scale bookings from a technology perspective
  • Configure AV systems, lighting and event-specific technology setups in partnership with the Events team
  • Develop customised technology solutions for unique or high-profile events, ensuring seamless delivery on the night
  • Be available for key events where technology presence is required including evenings and weekends where the business needs it

Innovation, Integration & Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with all third-party technology suppliers — Tevalis, SevenRooms, Dojo, MarketMan and others
  • Participate in supplier review meetings alongside the Head of Venue Technology — tracking performance, service levels and roadmap developments
  • Ensure all venue systems are effectively integrated, minimising manual workarounds and operational complexity for teams
  • Monitor evolving hospitality technology trends and flag relevant improvements or innovations to the Head of Venue Technology
  • Support the evaluation and testing of new tools or platforms ahead of potential estate-wide rollout

New Venue Openings

  • Work directly with the Rollout Director and property teams during new site builds to scope, configure and test all technology systems
  • Implement venue-specific technology fit-outs that meet TOCA Social's guest experience and operational standards
  • Create tailored training guides, system playbooks and handover documents for every new venue opening
  • Deliver structured technology onboarding and training for new venue teams — ensuring high confidence and operational resilience from day one
  • Support Paris and future European venue openings on-site during the critical pre-opening and launch period

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 3+ years' experience in venue, hospitality, entertainment or retail technology support.
  • Proven experience managing technology across multiple venues in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of EPOS, payment systems, networking, AV, CCTV, access control and guest-facing technology.
  • Confident troubleshooting hardware, software and infrastructure issues with a focus on rapid resolution.
  • Experience supporting live operational environments where uptime and guest experience are business critical.
  • Skilled in managing third-party technology suppliers and service partners.
  • Experience administering POS, CRM and inventory management platforms.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple issues and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communicator who can build trusted relationships with operational teams and explain technical concepts simply.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences through reliable, innovative technology.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working flexibly, including evenings, weekends and travel across the UK and Europe when required.
