Overview
As a Presales Consultant you will be responsible for planning and designing Enterprise Networking and Security infrastructures for our clients. You will be a key contributor in the pre-sales process, assisting the regional sales team in evaluating customers’ needs, and developing solutions from concept to implementation.

Your Impact
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide technical expertise/credibility to account team on designated focus area
- Conduct customer presentations on ePlus ‘value proposition’ and technical solution set and focus areas
- Assist sales account managers with overall account planning as it relates to technical aspects of hardware, software, and services opportunity development
- Assist sales account managers with project management for presales engagements
- Complete technical sections for RFP/RFI/RFQ responses
- Assist account teams with collecting customer business and technical requirements and determining ePlus recommended solution(s)
- Develop solution architecture and detailed line item configurations/bills of materials (BOMs)
- Develop solution proposal and/or presentation of recommended solution
- Assist with technical scoping/review for Statement of Works (SOW).
- Function as liaison to end-user customer technical staff regarding solution and implementation specifics
- Function as a liaison between the sales team and professional services organization to vet solution recommendations and to complete technical portions of the SOW, as appropriate
- Function as technical liaison and ePlus ambassador with field OEM sales and technical teams
- As appropriate, assist ePlus sales team in dealing with customer satisfaction issues surrounding technical aspects of a recommended solution, or its implementation and deployment. As needed, assist in developing ‘get well’ plan
- Complete training per development plan and maintain certifications in accordance with focus area
- Meet with key vendors to stay current on products and technologies
Qualifications
Experience/Skills:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT
- 3+ years of experience performing as Presales Consultant or Systems Engineer
- Multiple industry-recognized Certifications. i.e. CCNP, CCDP, JNCIS, JNCIP, PNCSA, PCNSE, VCP
- Strong Enterprise networking experience with vendors such as Cisco, HPE/Juniper
- Strong Enterprise security experience with vendors such as Cisco, PaloAlto, Fortinet
- Excellent customer service skills, both in-person and over the phone/video conference
- Excellent presentation, written communication, and documentation skills
- Strong business requirement understanding including costing, P&L and pricing strategies
- Strong attention-to-detail
- Ability to think on your feet and come up with solutions quickly
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Highly desirable – two or more from the following:
- Wi-Fi experience – Aruba, Cisco, MIST
- Compute & Hyper convergence – HPE, Dell, Nutanix
- Ultra-Low Latency (ULL) experience –Arista
- SD-WAN experience – Cisco (Viptela), HPE (SilverPeak), VMWare (VeloCloud)
- Collaboration experience – Cisco Collab, Webex calling
- DevOps and automation experience – Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Python, CICD
- Service Provider experience – MPLS, VPLS
- Cloud experience – AWS, Azure
- Storage experience – NetApp, Pure
- Virtualization – VMWare
