Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:  

We are looking for a UK HSE Manager to join our plant in either Bishopstoke, Southampton or Wrexham.

Reporting to the UK Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Director. You will take responsibility for leading, coaching and developing 3 direct reports. You’ll have a hands on approach and lead our journey in safety behavior.  You will support the Plant HSE Managers in the implementation of HSE practices and improvements, hence some level of travel is required.

You will be responsible for:

  • Liaise with company HQ, regulatory, advisory, and competent bodies, as required and advise the company on important regulatory changes and compliance issues.

  • Perform HSE audits / assessments / inspections in accordance with internal plans and third parties (customers, certification bodies, etc.) across our three manufacturing sites.

  • Ensure all reported HSE incidents / accidents / near misses are investigated and reported internally and to regulatory bodies as appropriate.

  • Review and analyze all incident investigation and HSE data to identify any emerging trends or potential problems including compilation of month-end events and HSE reports for UK and Prysmian Group Corporate HSE.

  • Promote a safe working culture. Encourage continuous improvement, learning and the implementation of best practice to drive cultural change focusing on behaviors and engagement, communication and training whilst ensuring the deployment of all new initiatives are standardized across the UK.

  • Identify, arrange, and provide competent training relating to HSE for new and existing employees.

  • Support the Plant Directors and operations teams with practical advice, equipment reviews and CAPEX applications.

  • Ensure compliance with packaging and environmental legislation, and environmental agreements, including all environmental permits the company holds.

  • Manage the process to guarantee compliance to REACH, ROHS, COSHH, among others.

  • Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual sustainability data relating to HSE is submitted in full and on time, including audit checks on data quality.

You are the right fit if you have/are: 

  • Possess and maintain the current knowledge of all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental law, Industry Regulations and Guidelines to steer the business towards continued compliance.

  • Solid technical knowledge is key, so you will be degree qualified in a suitable technical subject and you will hold an HSE related Diploma (NEBOSH) / IEMA Certificate.

  • Hold a Lead Auditor certification in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment or similar, with a strong focus on leading others.

  • You will be a change driver and someone who brings fresh and dynamic thinking to the UK team, hence your resilience, team playing skills and ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization will be your asset.

  • Ability to influence others to achieve results while living our company values of Drive, Trust and Simplicity.

  • Ability to drive the integration of ISO14001 and ISO45001, in conjunction with ISO9001, using the management systems to facilitate business improvement.
