ISS is hiring! We are seeking a talented and motivated analytical Research Analyst to join our UK Corporate Governance team in London. This is a unique opportunity to join our market-leading team.

As part of the ISS UK Benchmark Research team, you will be able to further hone your expertise in a dynamic work environment. In collaboration with other members of the team or within the organization, you will be in charge of analysing corporate governance data and financial information, and providing reports for institutional investors, based on the ISS voting policies.

Responsibilities:

• Analysing company reports, corporate governance data and financial information.

• Authoring detailed and well-reasoned written analyses on listed companies.

• Providing vote recommendations for shareholders' general meetings.

• Engaging in dialogue with senior representatives of large companies as part of the research process.

• Engagement with institutional investor client and other stakeholders.

• Discussing reports, and responding to questions, internally and externally.

• Contributing to the publication of research papers and to the development of ISS corporate governance policies.

• Developing an expertise in the UK market regarding corporate governance, investment, and shareholders' issues.

• Participation in debates on corporate governance and the implementation of the voting policy among team members and other research teams.

• Opportunities to contribute to various other bespoke projects outside of the normal day-to-day responsibilities.

Desired qualifications:

• Impeccable written English.

• Demonstrable ability to construct a well-reasoned and cogent analysis, in clear and sophisticated language.

• Ideally with 1-2 years of experience in corporate governance and/or ESG-related fields. Alternatively, experience in copywriting, investment writing, or financial journalism would also be suitable. Otherwise, candidates with professional experience in the production of written reports on subjects in the broad financial realm would be considered.

• Interest in finance, investment management, and corporate governance topics.

• Degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Political Sciences, International Relations, History or English.

• Confident, polished, and diplomatic verbal communication.

• Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to absorb and distil large quantities of information.

• Strong time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.

• Keen eye for detail.

• Ability to work independently, take initiatives, and collaborate within a team.

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office apps, especially Word and Excel).
