Introducing the Trainline Finance & Treasury Team 👋

Trainline's Finance & Treasury team keeps the business running on solid financial footing, managing everything from day-to-day cash positions to the Group's banking relationships and debt facilities. This role sits right at the heart of that, giving the successful candidate genuine ownership over cash management, forecasting, and treasury operations, while acting as a key point of contact for banking partners and the Facility Agent.
You'll work closely with FP&A, Management Accounts, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, People, Tax and other Finance teams, helping to continuously improve forecast accuracy and strengthen the controls that underpin how the business manages risk. It's a role with plenty of scope to make a tangible impact, and a great opportunity to build treasury expertise across a broad and varied remit.
In this role as the Treasury Analyst, you will...🚄

  • Manage day-to-day operational cash positions across all Group bank accounts, processing treasury and ad-hoc payments with the right approvals and evidence retention

  • Own the Group's 13 week cash flow forecast, including regular updates, variance analysis, and actualisation against real cash movements

  • Execute FX trades to meet forecast currency flows, optimising timing to maximise returns while monitoring open positions and exposures

  • Provide recommendations on RCF drawdown and repayment based on the forecast position

  • Prepare and maintain cash and liquidity reporting for internal and external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact for treasury queries during audits

  • Operate as Control Operator for key banking controls, supporting KYC processes and keeping bank mandates and signatory authorities accurate and current

  • Manage the Group's Revolving Credit Facility, including drawdowns, repayments, guarantee issuance and day-to-day liaison with the Facility Agent

  • Support treasury transformation initiatives, spotting opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, reporting and controls through process improvement and automation

We'd love to hear from you if you have...🔍

  • Proven experience in a treasury or cash management role, with a solid grasp of accounting and reconciliation processes

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel for cash reporting and forecasting

  • The confidence to liaise directly with banking partners, facility agents and internal stakeholders

  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, along with the ability to work independently

  • A comfortable, controls-minded approach, with experience managing banking mandates and contributing to control design

  • A working familiarity with AI tools, and a genuine interest in applying AI-assisted workflows to improve treasury processes

  • Ideally, experience with 360T or a similar FX/treasury trading platform, and familiarity with banking portals such as Barclays iPortal

  • You may also have exposure to D365 (Microsoft Dynamics) or a professional qualification such as ACT or AAT, though neither is essential
