Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport Team for our Carlisle site. As a Transport Planner you will be contributing to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.
Working hours: Monday to Friday days 08:00 - 18:00
Salary: £34,381 Per Annum.
Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
- Work with the Carlisle Transport, Central and Network teams, to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS.
- Planning orders from multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
- Planning on a time critical basis to achieve customer performance targets.
- Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise.
- Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPI’s.
- Proactively look for continuous improvements.
- Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year.
- Efficiently utilise the Stobart and Culina Group networks for support when volumes dictate.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK
- Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Work and Outlook
- CPC Desirable but not required
- Experience of planning 20+ tractor units across multiple depots
- Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment
- Able to collaborate effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating initiative and accountability when working independently.
- Customer focus on delivery performance
- Commercially and Financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
- Experience of using a TMS system
- Strong analytical and excel capability across standard formulas
