DXC Technology is seeking a highly skilled Master Scheduler to support delivery across a secure, high-profile client environment.

This is a critical role responsible for developing, maintaining, and assuring integrated project and programme schedules, ensuring alignment across multiple workstreams, dependencies, and stakeholders.

Role Summary

The Training Lead is responsible for ensuring the Systems Engineering organisation has the skills, knowledge, and capabilities required to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes. This role owns the engineering training strategy, competency framework, learning pathways, and onboarding experience, ensuring engineers are equipped with the processes, tools, and technical knowledge needed to perform effectively.

Working closely with engineering leadership, discipline leads, and Learning & Development teams, the Training Lead drives workforce capability improvement through structured training programmes, skills assessments, and continuous learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Training Strategy & Capability Development

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the engineering training strategy, ensuring alignment with engineering processes, governance, toolsets, and programme requirements.
  • Establish and maintain competency frameworks that define the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required across engineering disciplines.
  • Identify capability and skills gaps through assessments, audits, performance data, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Develop workforce training roadmaps that support both current delivery needs and future capability requirements.

Training Planning & Delivery

  • Create and manage training plans covering systems engineering fundamentals, engineering processes, methodologies, tools, and role-specific competencies.
  • Coordinate the delivery of training through internal subject matter experts, external training providers, and digital learning platforms.
  • Ensure training programmes are accessible, relevant, and aligned to engineering best practices.
  • Support the development of certification pathways and professional development opportunities.

Learning Resources & Knowledge Management

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve training materials, learning resources, guidance documents, and training documentation.
  • Ensure learning content remains current and reflects approved engineering processes, standards, and governance requirements.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the engineering community.

Competency & Performance Tracking

  • Monitor training completion, competency progression, certification status, and learning effectiveness across the engineering organisation.
  • Produce training and capability reports for engineering leadership and programme stakeholders.
  • Use training metrics and feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Onboarding & Early Careers Development

  • Lead onboarding programmes for new engineers, ensuring rapid integration into engineering teams and ways of working.
  • Support graduates, apprentices, and new starters with structured learning pathways and development plans.
  • Ensure onboarding activities provide the knowledge, tools, and support required for early productivity and successful performance.

Process Alignment & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with the Engineering Process Lead to ensure training content reflects current engineering processes, policies, standards, and governance.
  • Support the implementation of process changes through targeted communication and training activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement of learning programmes based on organisational feedback, lessons learned, and evolving business needs.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience developing and delivering technical training programmes within an engineering or technology environment.
  • Strong understanding of learning and development principles, competency management, and workforce capability planning.
  • Experience creating training strategies, learning pathways, and onboarding programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse skills gaps and develop targeted improvement plans.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Experience tracking and reporting training and competency metrics.

Desirable

  • Experience within Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of engineering processes, governance frameworks, and engineering toolsets.
  • Learning and Development qualifications or certifications.
  • Experience managing Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Understanding of competency and professional accreditation frameworks.

Reports to: Engineering Capability Manager / Head of Engineering Excellence / Chief Engineer (depending on organisational structure)
