The Role

We’re looking for a Trainee Pensions Administrator to join Aptia at an exciting time of growth and transformation. This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career within pensions, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive and structured environment.

You’ll work as part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality administration services to members, trustees, and clients. With guidance from experienced colleagues, you’ll develop strong technical knowledge and build a solid foundation for a long-term career in pensions.

This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of office and home working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a variety of pension administration tasks, including leavers, data updates, and setting up benefits into payment

  • Respond to member, trustee, and client enquiries (with support and supervision)

  • Learn to perform pensions calculations accurately and efficiently

  • Deliver work within agreed service levels and timescales

  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks

  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and service delivery

  • Follow established procedures and contribute to a consistent, high-quality service

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Essential Experience

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English (Grade C or above)

  • Strong numeracy skills and confidence working with numbers

  • Good IT skills, including familiarity with MS Office

  • High level of attention to detail and organisation

  • Ability to follow processes and work accurately within guidelines

  • Previous experience in an administrative role

Desirable

  • Academic background in mathematics or a related subject
