The Role:
- This role requires creating a cohesive plan that aligns with our wider marketing objectives, to deliver successful trade campaigns and events across all our product areas.
- You will work in close collaboration with the rest of our marketing team (brand, marcomms, digital and product), our field sales team and our trade and wholesale customers to ensure the effective delivery of trade-specific programs within our B2B and electrical wholesale markets.
- Your responsibilities will include managing the execution of point-of-sale (POS) strategies, promotional plans, creation of promotional material and content to support the channel, and all merchandising activities.
- You will refine and improve trade marketing processes to ensure they are streamlined for efficiency, ensuring availability and effectiveness of marketing assets and materials.
- The Trade Marketing Manager will also be accountable for the implementation of retail activations, trade shows, and B2B events with local teams, as well as tracking and reporting on trade marketing budget across the region.
Responsibilities:
- Trade Marketing Campaigns: Lead the development and execution of integrated trade marketing campaigns across our regional sales areas, and supporting European trade marketing activity, ensuring alignment with marketing and product strategies.
- Wholesaler Partnerships: Build strong relationships with key clients, ensuring optimal execution of in-store promotions, POS materials, and merchandising. Visiting customers on site and partnering with our regional Key Account Managers to understand marketing needs and maximise opportunities for collaboration and in-store visibility.
- Trade Shows & Events: Plan and execute regional B2B trade shows and events, ensuring impactful brand representation and engagement.
- Planning and execution: Manage the departmental marketing activity calendar during the year = 80% relates to LED and 20% relates to Memory including trade shows, brochure release dates, product release dates etc
- Marketing communications and branding: Maintaining brand consistency across all trade marketing assets, take a leading role in producing content and ensuring up-to-date and highly attractive branded content across all:
- Point of sale and promotional material
- Leaflets to end users
- Sales presentations to both customers and to assist sales team
- Website
- Brochures, catalogues, product displays, price lists
- Signage
- Customer publications
- Price lists – manage update of printed and digital, when new/retired products are actioned including organising photographs, brand, printer contacts, etc
- Training: Ensure smooth roll out and optimized access to learning resources for our regional sales team and users / installers / wholesale clients, including the production of video training materials and technical documents.
- Budget Management: Monitor and track trade marketing spend to understand the benefit of expenditure in relation to sales turnover and other financial metrics, ensuring efficient use of resources and return on investment.
- Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates on trade marketing performance, including campaign impact, retail execution, and budget utilisation.
- Market Research: Reviewing and analysing competitor activity and responding to changing market demands in a pro-active manner.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in trade marketing, ideally within a retail or consumer-facing environment, supported by a relevant degree-level marketing qualification
- Expertise in developing and executing POS strategies, retail campaigns, and in-store merchandising activities
- Experience in managing UK and European trade shows and B2B events
- Strong track record in working cross-functionally with colleagues and retail partners
- Excellent project management skills, with experience handling multiple stakeholders and managing complex timelines
- Proficiency in trade marketing tools and platforms; experience with CRM and marketing automation systems is advantageous
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional European languages (French or Dutch, in particular) are a plus.
- Experience in managing trade marketing budgets and ensuring optimal use of resources. Commercial acumen, with a focus on driving retail performance and return on investment.
- Previous experience in the LED Lighting or IT peripheral market will be highly desirable
