Test and Prototype Manager Jobs in Andover at Stannah - Join Our Team!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Test and Prototype Manager to join Stannah Home Accessibility based in Andover.

This role will lead the development and delivery of prototype builds and testing activities that support both new product introduction and existing product development. Working closely with Product Engineering and cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for ensuring products are thoroughly verified, safe, reliable and fit for purpose before reaching production.

As the Test and Prototype Manager, you will work 37 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:45, Friday 08:00 to 13:00, on a permanent contract.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineering leader looking to play a key role in product innovation, testing excellence and continuous improvement within a market-leading business.

To be successful as the Test and Prototype Manager, it is essential that you have previous experience leading engineering test, validation or prototype teams, as well as developing verification and validation test plans. Experience with external test houses, ISO/IEC 17025 principles, LabVIEW or test automation environments would be desirable.

Test and Prototype Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Test and Prototype team, ensuring effective delivery of prototype and testing activities across product development programmes.
  • Manage prototype planning, workshop operations, test facilities, capacity and resources to meet project milestones and business needs.
  • Develop and implement verification strategies, test plans and methodologies to validate product performance and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing testing efficiency, data capture, facility capability and operational performance.
  • Manage health and safety, risk assessments, contractor activities, external test partners and departmental budgets.

Qualifications

Test and Prototype Manager Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience managing a test, validation, prototype or similar engineering team.
  • Strong understanding of product verification, validation testing, engineering requirements and risk management.
  • Experience managing engineering test facilities while maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
