About the team

The GSMA Technology team is part of the Industry Services and Solutions pillar of the GSMA. It is responsible for maintaining and evolving the technology processes that have underpinned the mobile industry for the past 30 years. The department also has the responsibility to support the creation and development of new products and services to support the industry’s growth. It does this through a group of member communities that engage with industry leaders to shape the future.

These communities either focus on a type of technology (e.g. IoT) or adjacent industries (e.g. Finance) to move sector-specific innovations forward and help drive growth through collaboration with the wider ecosystem. 

About the role

As our Technology Communities Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the GSMA Technology Communities to achieve their objectives, engage with our members and showcase their success. 

You will be responsible for:
•    Organising meetings of Technology Communities and their sub-groups;
•    Managing bookings, invitations, agenda, slide decks and note-taking;
•    Managing internal and external stakeholders;
•    Managing the administration of communities on GSMA’s online document repositories GSMA Member Gateway and MS Teams;
•    Capturing updates for reporting and dashboards to support Foundry Operations
•    Providing support to the Technology Directors and marketing team
•    Assisting with GSMA events: MWC and M360 series;
•    Performing other ad-hoc tasks and support for discrete projects as required.

There could be the requirement for a small amount of overseas travel to support events and meetings.

About you

This is a hands-on role with successful candidates required to “hit the ground running”, be self-motivated and be able to work effectively with limited supervision. As a Technology Co-ordinator, you will need the following skills: 
•    Understanding of good project management practices and processes, including a working level understanding of waterfall, agile, and other delivery methods
•    Experience of using different project management tools, including Asana, MS Teams and MS Project
•    Experience of supporting the managing of projects and work streams
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Able to communicate complex messages in a simple manner
•    Willingness and confidence to present in meetings with stakeholders 
•    An aptitude for managing internal and external stakeholders of different seniority  
•    Network well with new colleagues or those in other locations/departments
•    Good attention to detail and use of ‘plain’ English in communications
•    Experience of working in an international and cross-cultural environment would be beneficial
•    Good office IT skills, at least including Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Word and Excel
