We’re looking for a Technical Specialist to join our team here at EDF and help deliver safe, high-quality energy solutions!

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a highly technical electrical and telecommunications specialists to cover different parts of the UK!

You will support the deployment and maintenance of products and services such as electrical metering, energy monitoring solutions and control equipment for business customers. Additionally, your role will be to support the H&S policy standards by carrying out work in progress (WIP), post install (PIC) and desk top QA (DTQA) checks. Reporting and actioning of defects discovered. You will have a good working relationship with your manager assisting in any subsequent investigations if applicable.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll take ownership of a variety of technical and customer-focused tasks, including:

  • Installing, commissioning, maintaining and replacing electrical metering systems (including Low Voltage, Current Transformer and High Voltage)
  • Carrying out site surveys, risk assessments and producing clear reports to support solution design
  • Completing quality assurance checks, including work in progress and post-installation reviews
  • Identifying, reporting and helping resolve technical issues and defects
  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues, sharing your knowledge and experience
  • Responding to customer queries professionally, whether on site, by phone or in writing
  • Following all relevant safety standards, regulations and codes of practice at all times
  • Responding to emergency call-outs when required

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a great approach to teamwork and customer service. You’ll bring:

  • A recognised electrical qualification (City&Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)
  • Experience working with single and three-phase systems, including installations and exchanges
  • Knowledge of LV, CT and HV metering (or willingness to develop this)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to manage your own workload
  • A strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • CVA experience is desirable, but we’ll support you with training if needed.

As a remote worker operating around the London/ Southern area, the post involves working nation-wide so travel and overnight stays can be part of the role. Naturally, we try to allocate works to the nearest member of the team, where practical.
