The Role: Technical Sales Engineer – IR

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within the Australian Industrial Refrigeration & Heat Pump marketplace

  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with business objectives

  • Provide market insights, including competitor activity and industry trends

  • Work closely with engineering and project teams to develop designs, costings, and proposals

  • Use specialist selection software to optimise equipment choices

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to determine pricing and solutions

  • Manage the end‑to‑end sales process, including SFDC management, bid development, and legal reviews

  • Represent the business with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity

  • Ensure full compliance with Johnson Controls’ Safety and Ethics Policies

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience in industrial refrigeration, including product knowledge, design, or solution sales

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field (preferred but not essential)

  • 3+ years Technical Sales experience

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Strong negotiation abilities and a consultative approach

  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking

  • The ability to build trust quickly and influence stakeholders at all levels

  • A proactive, collaborative, and customer‑focused mindset
