About Universal Quantum 

At Universal Quantum we aim to make the world a better place by developing a new computer technology. Together, we are creating truly impactful quantum computers. Our machines will be capable of solving problems until now considered impossible, with applications ranging across a broad range of industries including healthcare, materials and aerospace. We are looking to hire a Content Manager to create accessible, technical, and brand-promoting content across all UQ channels. This content includes brochures, presentations, case studies, social media posts, bids/proposals, grant applications and technical blogs. 


Role Overview 

This pivotal role within the UQ team presents a unique opportunity for the right person to make a significant impact. Experience in developing and managing content is essential, and a background in physics is highly desirable. This position is ideal for someone transitioning from an academic or journalistic background, and who has a curiosity for corporate communications.  

Responsibilities 

- Generating and weaving the stories that propel our organisation and culture forward. 

- Develop, own, and manage the content calendar for UQ across all channels, including social media. 

- Support program management and technical teams with proposal writing and other technical documentation. 

- Ensure all published content meets the highest quality standards and aligns with the company’s tone of voice and brand. 

- Identify content creation opportunities, including product development news and employer brand stories. 

- Support marketing campaigns with compelling content to aid conversions. 

-  Analyse content reach and establish a reporting cadence. 

- Publish content across UQ’s social media platforms and native website using the CMS tool (Drupal). Drupal training can be provided. 

- Build relationships within the business to uncover content creation opportunities in a fast-paced environment. 

- Support other marketing tasks such as events, digital marketing campaigns, and branding initiatives. 

Requirements

Key Attributes for Comparison of Candidates 

1. Experience with Technical Content: Ability to transform highly technical content into accessible and engaging material for a broader audience.  

2. Technical Knowledge in Physics: Academic or industry experience in physics. Press publication experience in physics is also desirable. 

3. Content Calendar Management: Experience in developing and managing a high-frequency content calendar, covering both scientific and non-scientific topics. 

Must-Have Skills 

- Experience crafting compelling written pieces for various platforms, both short and long form. 

- Excellent project and desk management skills. 

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; a team player. 

- Keen eye for details and exceptional proof-reading skills. 

- Academic or industry background in Physics. 


Nice-to-Have Skills 

- Previous experience working in a marketing or communications role. 

- Experience managing company social media accounts. 

- Experience with website content publishing and editing, particularly using Drupal.
