Motorola Solutions is a leading global Public Safety and Government communications technology solutions provider committed to creating maximum value for our customers by providing competitive solutions and services.
A new role has arisen within the Pre Sales organisation for a Europe Pre Sales Technical Architect.
The Pre Sales organisation provides technical and bid management support to the Sales teams within Europe enabling the delivery of compelling and winning proposals and solutions. This team provides support for the full range of solutions and technologies including:
- Opportunities for Motorola’s traditional core radio products and services, e.g. TETRA (DIMETRA), APCO P25 (ASTRO), DMR (MOTOTRBO).
- Opportunities with complex systems integration requirements often requiring significant 3rd party content
- Opportunities for new Motorola products and solutions (e.g. Broadband comms, HF comms, Video, etc.).
Job Description

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

We are looking for a Pre Sales Technical Architect with a proven track-record on the following competencies:

  • Engagement with customers to fully understand problems and requirements, demonstrating deep knowledge of the customer’s problem space and solutions.
  • Requirements analysis of complex customer problems to determine compelling technology and service offerings.
  • Design of technology and service-based solutions, including generation of high-level designs, bill-of-materials, their documentation and management of the review process of these designs.
  • Presenting solution designs and implementation possibilities to potential customers based on both theoretical and practical implementation experiences.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. such customer's key organisations like MoI, MoD and other agencies).
  • Ability to conduct demonstrations of Motorola products and solutions.
  • Supporting the procurement organisation to obtain and evaluate quotations from 3rd party equipment vendors.
  • Lead all technical sales activities related to assigned sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with the entire bid team to ensure overall customer objectives and strategy is maintained
  • Pre-Sales support for the entire Europe (including non-EU countries like Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, etc.)

Basic Requirements

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  • A University Bachelor’s degree or similar (preferably in communications, computer science, software engineering or a similar field).

  • Generic knowledge about radio communications

  • Experience in a Pre Sales technical role, including tender answering.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken. English is mandatory. Other European languages are desirable.

  • Ability to initiate and build solid working relationships and to be self-motivated, results-oriented and operate with minimal supervision

  • Motorola Solutions product portfolio experience and/or relevant experience in key   competitor offerings is highly desirable

  • Experience in the following domains is highly desirable:
    - Land Mobile Radio technologies (TETRA, APCO P25, DMR)
    - Complex systems integration often requiring significant 3rd party content
    - Mobile Broadband communications (including 3GPP)
    - HF Radio communications

Location/Travel

The desired location for this position is either a Motorola office, hybrid or offsite in any European country. Permanent residence and a work permit in the EU (including other European non-EU countries like Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, etc.) are mandatory.
The position assumes eventual travelling (up to 25%) to other MSI sites and customer locations within Europe if specific projects, customer meetings and demonstrations require.
