We are seeking a hands-on IAM / Security Engineer to support the implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) controls across a complex hybrid estate. This role is focused on practical delivery—configuring MFA, integrating identity solutions, and working directly with system owners to secure access across critical services aligned to DSPT / CAF requirements
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with MFA platforms (Entra ID, Okta, Ping, Duo etc.)
- Experience working with hybrid identity environments (AD + Cloud)
- Understanding of IAM principles and access control models
- Experience integrating MFA with on-prem / legacy systems
- Comfortable troubleshooting identity and authentication issues
- Able to produce clear technical documentation and evidence
- Configure and deploy MFA across cloud and on-prem systems
- Implement Conditional Access policies (Entra ID / Okta / similar)
- Integrate MFA into existing and legacy applications
- Troubleshoot authentication issues and MFA failures
- Work directly with system owners to onboard services into MFA
- Execute test scenarios and validate MFA end-to-end
- Produce technical documentation and audit evidence
- Support assurance activities aligned to DSPT / CAF
- Experience within public sector or NHS environments
- Familiarity with DSPT / NCSC CAF / ISO 27001
- Exposure to Privileged Access Management (PAM)
This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK.
