Job Description:

At DXC Technology, we deliver mission-critical services that power some of the UK's most important organisations. We are looking for a customer-focused and commercially aware Technical Account Manager (TAM) to lead the delivery and continual improvement of technology services for a major public sector customer operating within a secure and operationally critical environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced service delivery professional with a background in Technical Account Management, Managed Services, BPO (Business Process Outsourcing), or large-scale IT service environments. You'll act as a trusted advisor to customers and stakeholders, ensuring service excellence while driving innovation, operational performance, and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

This role requires a confident and proactive leader who can navigate complex service environments, manage technical and operational challenges, and build strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. The TAM coordinates cross-functional delivery teams, oversees service governance, monitors performance against contractual commitments, and identifies opportunities for innovation, automation, and service improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the day-to-day delivery of assigned customer accounts.
  • Building strong and trusted relationships with customer stakeholders.
  • Driving service excellence through effective governance, reporting, and performance management.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional delivery teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Identifying opportunities for service improvement, automation, and innovation.
  • Managing operational issues, risks, and escalations through to resolution.
  • Supporting budget management and cost control activities.
  • Monitoring and reporting against contractual commitments and service level agreements.
  • Working with senior leadership to define and track key performance metrics.
  • Ensuring technology services continue to support evolving customer and operational priorities.
  • Maintaining awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies that could benefit customers.

What we're looking for

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Technical Account Manager, Service Delivery Manager, Account Delivery Manager or similar client-facing leadership role.
  • Strong experience managing customer relationships within complex service delivery environments.
  • Experience working within BPO, Managed Services, IT Outsourcing, Business Process Services (BPS) or large-scale technology delivery environments.
  • Demonstrable experience leading operational and technical service delivery teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of governance, service reporting, performance management, and continuous improvement.
  • Commercial awareness with experience supporting budget management and cost control.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working within highly regulated or security-conscious environments.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience delivering services into the public sector.
  • Project Management qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent.
  • ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
