Within Engineering, the Mission Systems Engineering Delivery team accounts for all engineering delivery activities for the delivery and development of Mission System products and solutions: concept definition, system design, system integration, verification, validation and qualification. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a: Team Manager Work Package Managers – Mission Systems 

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated discipline and people manager to lead one of our engineering delivery teams. In this role you will lead a team of around 15 Work Package Managers (WPMs), across the Netherlands, Portugal and Romania. With your experience and knowledge, you are able to work closely with your team to secure our objectives, in a predictable way.

We rely on you to fully embed the engineering delivery way of working across your team. With drive and energy, you will ensure that the principles of work package management are fully integrated and that the engineering delivery discipline stands like a house so we can lift our performance to the next level. 

In our international context, you are a connecting colleague who collaborates across borders, bringing energy and unity to the team. 

We are looking for someone who not only refines our processes and ensures we’re in control every month, but also works in a metric-driven way so we always know where we stand.

In this role you are part of the Mission Systems segment and reporting to the Head of Engineering Delivery (HoED). Within this segment you will support the HoED in implementing and executing the engineering policy and providing the necessary means to improve project execution. You will be involved during project bids, launches and project reviews during execution where we expect active participation.

Furthermore you will provide close support in defining, rolling out and enforcing tools, processes and practices across the various segments in order to safeguard a common way of working. In supporting the HoED you will also take part in the development and upkeep of the Process Roadmap and help in managing various improvement projects within the disciplines scope.

About you
You are a seasoned people manager, with a strong background in engineering project management, and a passion for people and organizational growth. You’re comfortable in both strategic and operational domains, with a hands-on mindset when necessary. You understand the engineering project management principles deeply and know how to lead through influence as much as through structure.

• You are a team player with strong dedication to achieve common team goals. You have a clear sense of how to leverage your personality and experience to bring out the best in others and yourself;
• You have good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical detail at different levels;
• You have a “can-do” and “why-not-this” mentality: entrepreneurial, flexible and open mindset;
• You have a relevant degree in one of the following subjects: electronics engineering, science, mathematics or science based subjects;
• Experience and a good understanding  in Project Management and the Process;
• Experience in people management, team management and being able to understand the challenges a team of specialists is dealing with;
• Good interpersonal and good communication skills towards stakeholders;
• Willingness to challenge and eager to be challenged;
